Lino Printed Notecards based on traditional tattoo designs.

I was worried how tattoo designs, that rely on quite a lot of shading, would transfer into the medium of lino printing which has very flat colour, but it turned out ok.

Following on from my 'British Butterflies' print I decided to focus on just blue butterflies this time. These aren't all British varieties as blue British butterflies all look very similar, so this is a more exotic selection hence the foreign name this time.

Here's a pic of a new design i finished last night based on a traditional gypsy head tattoos. Going to lino print it in three colours.

Here's a little preview of a new print I've been working on the last couple of weeks. It's developed from 'The Beautiful & the Damned' dry-point I did at Easter. In this photo you can see the design and the first and second colour printed. I have one more colour to print next week (dark purple) and then these will be dried and available from early September

This is the third print in my Indian Summer series. It is based on the beautiful peach coloured foxgloves that flower in my garden each year.

Second print in the Indian Summer series. I love flamingos! Didn't think this would print due to the black being so reduced, so I am very happy it worked out.

All prints will be three colour reductions, with the final colour being very reduced so that I can experiment with the natural cuts in the lino catching ink and printing.

These are prints of my own and two friend's bikes. It's called 'Pub Bikes' as these lovely old bikes look fantastic but are not great for riding any distance further than the pub! The special editions are printed onto copies of a vintage map of my home county, Essex.

These are two of a new series of dry-points I'm creating inspired by the novels of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Each one is intaglio inked with two colours then extra ink applied over the top to give a unique mono-printed effect to each edition.
