But even if some of his actions are debatable (0,1% of what can be debatable in golden age arc yeah fuck this sue me) there is one thing that I cannot tolerate hearing. And it’s the mockery over sexual abuse Griffith had endured.

I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate how they can sympathise with Guts because he was powerless and brutally violated and “innocent” in the way he really couldn’t do anything about it so it’s 100% not his fault (and it’s not, he is a victim, and you should sympathise with him damn it), but as Griffith agreed to have sex with child predator for money it doesn’t make him a victim anymore, so he is not innocent, he is a slut, someone who does not deserve sympathy from other men, because not fighting back/willing to sell your body is not masculine, so Griffith is a lesser man for that.

(Note: and he did this to spare his squad the unnecessary battles where they could die, he have chosen his friends over his dignity and let himself be raped, and after that so many berserk fans would still say he didn’t care about them and used them as instruments, there is a special place in hell for these people I tell you I am a guardian there they won’t get away)

And it’s just so…..not surprising, really. It’s painful and devastating, but so so to be expected. Because no wonder most of the men so reluctant to believe victims of grooming (female or male) because well “you have agreed to it, isn’t it?” How we are used to seeing brutal rape in media that this is the only form of sexual abuse most people consider to be a real crime. And how big is this gap between us, that men just won’t really understand that even saying “yes” does not necessarily mean “consent” if there is power imbalance, and that fighting back is not always an option and that even if you can get a gain out of giving up your body and your innocence and your dignity it doesn’t mean you won’t be traumatised by that.
