Hi, my name is Micaela Perrin Cruz, I am a 24 year old trans woman from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I have been transitioning for 4 years now. I have gone as far as my own resources can take me with my medical transition journey.

I’m ready for sex reassignment surgery and would appreciate your help.

The Haitian healthcare system is not equipped to do this kind of surgery. Even if they were, insurance companies do not include it.

Any law regarding support or even protection for trans people or any LGBTQ+ person is non existent.

I would get sex reassignment surgery in the United States, possibly New York.

The current pandemic has helped devalue the price of the of the Gaude (Haitians currency) while incomes have gone down almost completely and my mental health has only gotten worse with the financial stress plus increasing dysphoria.
