600 deserved Strikes' Zeus design
I'm sorry, I just wanted to share this here too T^T
What is this? This is none other than my Zeus design, reimagined for 600 Deserved Strikes, another project I’ve been working on… even if a little slowly.
Since the original version already featured more distorted takes on Zeus and Poseidon, it felt right to do the same with my official designs. These versions are basically the “What if?” counterparts of my reinterpretations - shaped by a much darker and more unsettling universe.
As you may notice, this Zeus has two horns, even though the one he lost to Athena has been replaced with a golden one. Almost as if, in this version, Zeus has no regrets with what happened with Metis. After all, to him, it was the right thing to do… so it's almost... proud of it?
Athena? He does care about her, of course. But he would probably have far fewer issues reacting the way he did in God Games from EPIC: The Musical (which, reminder, is still canon in 600 deserved strikes' universe since it’s a shared setting! Yes, this is very much not mythologically accurate! It’s basically a story of a story of another story! lol )
He also very clearly embodies many of the traits people nowadays already tend to associate with Zeus (unfortunately, I might add), traits that simply do not exist in Divine Affairs and are canon only within this interpretation.
This version is cruel, sadistic, and perverse, while the Zeus from Divine Affairs is… well, not exactly like that. The people who already follow my work definitely know what I mean.
Personally, I like him a lot. And even if I don’t really subscribe to the “evil Zeus” interpretation, I have to admit I find it very intriguing for ahem… purely narrative purposes. Obviously.
And you’re actually the first ones to see him after my Patreon supporters! So yeah… I really hope you like him <3
For those wondering what 600 Deserved Strikes even is - you probably either don’t know me yet, or you never got the chance to read my old fanfiction on Archive of Our Own back when it was still online.
It’s a story where Odysseus “loses” his fight right after Get in the Water and ends up becoming Poseidon’s prisoner. And well… from there on, things spiral into psychological manipulation, toxic dynamics, and a whole lot of heavier themes.
Since I genuinely enjoy writing stories that are a little psychologically disturbing, this project probably won’t be for everyone, and that’s completely okay. If that kind of narrative isn’t your thing, this definitely may not be for you.
But don’t worry, it’ll most likely stay on Patreon anyway, so you probably won’t be forced to hear too much about it around here!
wow I yapped really a lot, I'm sorry for this
