i am all for being critical of academia as an institution but many scholars are actually doing incredibly important work and their expertise is extremely valuable and not like anything you will find from some rando on tumblr dot com. you guys.

i have so many nonfiction books sitting on my shelf waiting to be read but i'm yearning to buy more that are relevant to my field of study bc i don't think i actually own any books on archaeology/ancient history.* i could buy my professor's book but i feel like that would be redundant bc i have a pdf copy already. also one of my other professors mentioned a book coming out this summer abt the state of cultural heritage in gaza and i reeeaaaally want to read it but he never mentioned the title. so if that rings any bells to anyone please please please lmk.

okay i actually completely lied my professor did tell me the name and thankfully i wrote it down. also it came out this past november so either he got the date wrong or i'm thinking of him mentioning something else. anyway it's called archiving gaza in the present if anyone wants to check it out i haven't read it so idk how it is but it seems really interesting.
