when i strongly identified w the ace label i spent a fair amt of time wondering what sexual attraction felt like bc its hard to identify a label based on a lack of something, at least it was for me. i would always get mad when id read people describing it super abstractly because i couldn’t “get” it, like “you really want to eat this cake” or “you just want to jump them” because that didn’t adequately describe the feeling to me at the time.

i think being arospec has led me to believe that certain behaviors regarding relationships are purely for performance because i just dont understand but i never voice it because it would be rude.. im putting this under the tag for less judgement 😞 but like ok. for example when people are constantly posting abt their so but never in a way thats like “omg my gf did the funniest thing” or “my bf made me a rlly good cake for my birthday” but instead is just “oooo i love my gfff” its like Ok…And?

people online discourse abt ppl who have never dated in the most bizarre ways wdym you genuinely think that lacking this specific experience irreparably damages and stunts you?? it's not a rare experience to have never dated. there are sizeable communities of people who talk about it. "oh but you need to experience the rejection and figure out what you want" do you think people who haven't experienced romance themselves don't have eyes and ears and brains and also OTHER interpersonal relationships outside of just dating lmao
