October 17: Secret/Fake Relationship
âWe should probably practice kissing,â Minho said out of nowhere, on a lazy Saturday afternoon, with just Thomas and Minho sitting in their livingroom.
Thomas had just violently switched off the TV, because nothing interesting was on. He was sleepily debating taking a nap, when Minho made his casual comment.
Suddenly, Thomas was very much awake, sitting up to stare at Minho, who was interestingly enough, flipping through one of Newtâs gossip magazinesâthe same ones he constantly made fun of the Brit for buying.
âIâm just saying..its a wedding after all.â Minhoâs eyes were still skimming the magazine, âDonât people get all emotional and lovey dovey at weddings?â
âI dunno, I havenât been to a wedding since I was ten..â Thomas replied, running his fingers through his hair. He reached over to hug a fuzzy cushionâalso Newtâs purchaseâas he leaned against the arm of the couch, trying to ignore his heartbeat thundering in his chest at the thought of kissing Minho.
âI guess we should practice, just in case,â he said as casually as he could manage.
âCool.â Minho put the magazine down. âOkay, so how do you want to do this?â
âWait,â Thomas squawked. âYou mean now. Like right now?â
âUnless you want to practice when all the guys are here?â
âOkay, fine, weâll do it here,â Thomas huffed, as Minho sat beside him on the couch.
âYouâre going to have to lose the pillow, ThomasâŚâ
âWhat? Oh yeah, sorry. Iâm just nervous, because any of them could walk in right now, and I donât know if youâve told anyone aboutââ
ââour agreement? I didnât think it needed to be shared,â Minho shrugged lightly. Thomas nodded, appreciative of that.
âThanks.â Thomas dropped the pillow onto the floor, as Minho folded one leg under him, turning his torso so he was facing Thomas. Thomas tried to get himself to relax, but his eyes kept darting towards the door, afraid someone was going to walk in and see.
âOn second thought,â Thomas got up from his seated position, and pulled Minho to his feet too, âLetâs take this to my room.â Minho grinned at him, then made a motion as if you say, after you.

Once heâd closed the door, Thomas realized this was the first time Minho had actually entered his room, and the enclosed space became hot really fast.
This was such a bad idea. Â
âMaybe we donât have to practice.â Thomas stalled as Minho walked towards him, muscles rippling under the shirt stretched across his broad shoulders. Why did he agreed to move in with Newt, despite knowing who his roommates were?
Oh yeah, because he was an idiot.
An idiot who also left his bedroom door wide open, when heâd been talking to his mom on the phone about the invite to his cousinâs wedding, and had accidentally blurted out he had a boyfriendâwhen he definitely, definitely didnât.
It had been mortifying at the time, because Minho heard the conversation, and politely commented he didnât know Thomas had a boyfriend, when heâd ended the call, flinging the phone onto his bed in frustration.
Thomas started, seeing Minho leaning against his door frame, eyebrows raised. âWhat?â
âI didnât know you had a boyfriend.â Minho repeated.
âIââ Thomasâ eyes widened realizing heâd been overheard, by Minho of all people. âI donât.â
âI panicked. She was suggesting I bring someone to my cousinâs wedding, and was suggesting potentials, because my ex is going to be there, and it sounded so pathetic getting your mom to set a date for your 20 year old ass, you know?â
âSo your solution was telling her you had a boyfriend?â Minho cocked his eyebrow at Thomasâ stupidity. âNot the smartest move, Thomas.â
Thomas slumped his shoulders, âYes, thank you. Like I didnât know that already.â
âWhat are you going to do, then?â
â
Apparently this. Bring Minho as a date to Teresaâs wedding, and in exchange heâd pay for Minhoâs coffee for two months, at that ridiculous fancy coffeeshop Minho liked to frequent. And stay at a hotel for two nights, sharing a bed because thatâs what âcouplesâ do. And see Minho in a tux. And kiss him in public. Â
âOr we can just wing it, and hope no one notices how uncoordinated we are at our first try, even though weâve been supposedly dating for one month?â Â Minho brought Thomas back to the present, voice surprisingly soft, considering how sarcastic he sounded.
âTheyâre home arenât they?â Thomas hadnât even heard the guys come in.
Minho nodded, âYouâre thinking too much. Just relax.â
âI canât relax! They could walk in!â Thomas whispered. Minho rolled his eyes, and leaned towards the side, locking the door swiftly.
âAnything else?â And Thomas knew he officially didnât have any means of stalling kissing the guy he was crushing on. âCome on, Thomas. I want it to look believable.â
âYou sound more excited to go to the wedding, than I am,â Thomas grumbled, when he noticed Minhoâs hands on his waist. âWait, why do you get to be the..the..â He couldnât say it. Yeah he had a type, but this was a pretend relationship. They could make up their own rules.
âBecause you seem naturallyâŚsoft,â was Minhoâs answer. Thomasâ cheeks did not heat up at that. Minho himself was starting to look uncomfortable. âLook, if you have an aversion to beinââ he said, his hands dropping to Thomasâ sides, and well Thomas knew he was being a little shit, and he was the one making it hard, and awkward.
Minho had agreed to be his date. It was a huge favour he was asking, and his behaviour wasnât making it easy for Minho.
Thomas grabbed Minhoâs face and kissed him, Minho responding only a a second late, wrapping his arm around Thomasâ waist, so he couldnât rock back on his heels immediately after.
The first few seconds were as Minho had put it earlier, âan uncoordinated messâ, but Minho seemed to know what he was doing. He gently grabbed the back of probed his tongue at the seam of Thomasâ lips, and he opened them shyly, allowing Minho to take over.
It became a lot less messy after that, Minho setting a slower pace for them, and Thomas following along, his arms around Minhoâs neck. The other boy had some height on him, and a blush coloured Thomasâ cheeks, that he had to stand slightly on his toes, to reach Minho.
Finally, in what felt like forever, they broke apart, Thomas rocking back on his heels, slow in unwinding his arms around Minhoâs neck. Scratching that back of his head, Thomas took a step back.
âIâm jealous. Youâre a really good kisser.â
âThanks,â Minho smiled lazily at Thomas, who made his way to the bed, sitting on it cross-legged. âI can teach you,â
âThomas raised his eyebrow, in confusion âYou want to teach me how to kiss like you?â
âWe can start right now, if you like.â Â Oh, Thomas liked. Thomas liked it very much, but he wasnât going to let Minho in on that.
âOr we can make up the particulars of our story,â he said, tearing some paper from a notebook on his bed, and rummaged through the desk drawer for a pen

Minho couldnât help but be disappointed in Thomasâ answer, but he conceded that it was a good idea to get their fictitious facts right. Looking around Thomasâ room, he pulled out the desk chair and sat on it, hands resting on his thighs, eyeing the boy in front of him.
Thomas still had a bit of the pink flush to his cheeks, when they parted from their practice kiss, and it gave him a very innocent, boyish look, that Minho would more than happily corrupt, given the chance. It was important to note though, thatâs just how he looked right now. Â
Minho glanced down at Thomasâ messy floor, least Thomas look up and see his thoughts reflected in his eyes. âThe only time I feel Iâve seen your roomâs floor, is when you moved in that first day,â he said casually.
âJust living up to the stereotypical white boy in college image.â Thomas mumbled distracted, but Minho laughed. Thomas an unconventional funny, which he liked, and he was cute, and in a normal situation, heâd have asked the guy out already.
It was as if Newt had known, because the first thing he did, was sit Minho down, and tell him a bit about Thomas and how his feelings had recently been trampled on by an ex, so he was in a bad place, and to kindly not make drama, that might have him want out of his lease sooner than the agreement.
Thomas was his type, through and through. Thomas also was his roommate and if Minho asked him out, and if Thomas said no, then there would be drama. So this was the next best thing he mused, considering he got to kiss Thomas whenever he wantedâwithin reason that isâand only with a certain audience.
But stillâŚlife wasnât too shabby.

A/N: I am a huge fan of this trope, so of course I was inspired to write Thominho this way. This was a bit rushed because I came up with it as I wrote, after realizing thominhoweek started already. I have a feeling Iâm going to continue this story into a couple more chapters :) Hope you enjoyed the read! All mistakes are my own. Cheers :)
