i just wish i could protect my best friend from all the intrusive negative thoughts that get in her head 😔 i wish i could take the pain for her. she is worth so so much to me and her value on this earth is higher than the most precious and rare of diamonds.

her sweetness tastes better than any candy that’s touched my tongue (and hey, even though i’m a diabetic, i can take it), and even though she’s affirmed to me countless times that i’m lying about this WHICH I’M NOT, she’s far more beautiful than me and she really does make my day brighter as much as i make hers brighter, maybe even more.

i only wish we could both stay happy all the time, and that we could be together and hug each other and swap songs and snacks and go for walks around the park and dream about an italian vaca but life is always knocking on (let alone beating down) the door to our minds we too often wanna keep shut.

she is simultaneously my steady and my muse, the outlet that i can plug into when i’ve had a long day (or an exciting one), the crutch i can lean on, the shoulder i can cry on. the brain i can depend on, the heart i can love on, the soul i can twin with. and everything else about her, in the mirror that i hold up to her for me to see, i wouldn’t want any different, both inside and out.

like anyone else should, i admire her intelligence and strength. i look at myself and wonder how i can hold a candle up to her mind. no matter how hard the winds of life try to sway your tree, it still stands ready to blossom with the most lucious of fruits. and i’m so grateful for them all.

i love what we share in common, how music keeps us both grounded and inspires us. how we admire more than just artistry— the quality of said artists’ character speaks volumes to us. that goes hand in hand with talent.

but at the heart of it all, what the most attractive thing i find in her, is her kindness. kindness goes a long way and had that familiar ripple effect, sure, but this kindness is so palpable, it’s so easily able to be reciprocated. friendships like ours stand the test of time due to our willingness to just be nice, friendly, wonderful, and kind people to this earth as well as each other, amongst many other things.

i’m so freaking lucky and grateful to have you in my life. calling you my best friend is a badge of honor i wear with the utmost pride.
