ah yes, the one week on the internet in 2025 that was simultaneously the wildest and yet the rarest in which everyone could agree on one thing:

lauren was absolutely beautiful. stunning. gorgeous. and she had a great voice. i did not know many songs of hers/theirs (g.r.l), but i distinctly remember hearing about a former member’s untimely and tragic passing twelve years ago, and unfortunately, that’s pretty much the only key thing that i remember about this group, besides their music. funny how you hear one song on the radio and you don’t think much of it at the moment but then years go by and suddenly a name gets brought up. and then the song, the memories and nostalgia you associate with that song. back when innocence peaked. back when childhood peaked. and suddenly it hits you how fast such time has gone by. too fast. for a passing to be this sudden, it’s absolutely heartbreaking. obviously, i feel for lauren’s parents and loved ones. and my god… i feel for g.r.l. losing one member was devastating enough.

i know all of the directioners can empathize with those fans and families of g.r.l. who are left now to quietly mourn. being a directioner hearing about simone’s passing… never once did we imagine that pain and heartbreak could ever resonate with us, twelve years later.
