It was actually quite confusing, I agree! The only grafting I can remember at the top of my head is during the very early days, before Casa Amor, when you’ve got your ‘second choice’ sort of trying to turn your head (i.e. if you’re coupled up with Bobby, Gary talks to you after playing Truth or Dare) but we don’t get any more than that, I don’t think. You do get a rooftop scene with Lurik when one of them is up for elimination because they’ve been voted least dateable, but that’s hardly grafting at all.

The grafting attempts at Casa Amor were way more obvious imo, even though they were not done that well. If I had to point out a scene ... I really do appreciate it when our CA ‘second choice’ brings us our favourite breakfast meal that one morning (on the second day I think) - I may not care about them at all and I’m probably not going to switch, but I can be grateful for the gesture, you know?

To be very honest, I feel like Fusebox missed a huge opportunity between Day 17 to 20 for the boys to graft on MC. That’s like the prime time - everyone was mix-matched and there were plenty of tension to play around with. Let’s say you’re on a loyal Bobby route, yeah? On Day 18, he’d drop Priya to save Hope; you can’t tell me that he wouldn’t try extra hard to graft on MC after that because 1) he obviously still wants to be with her or 2) he wants to apologise about choosing Hope. Or let’s imagine if you’re coupled up with Lurik ... there is no way that MC wouldn’t have let go of the fact that he had switched to coupling up with Blake just a day ago. The boys should have been given the chance to prove their worth to MC and try to win her over, not just because it’s nearing the end, but also because there are reasons why MC would need additional assurances of her feelings towards the guy she’s romancing.

i feel like fusebox is trying to pull another jake situation where we’ll get to couple up w noah a few days before the finale. but idk?

Yeah, I’m sure that’s what they’re getting at too.

Unfortunately they’ve missed the mark this season I think. Jake worked as a slow-burn LI because:

He didn’t have somebody he was attached to. Noah saying shit like “I’ll always keep trying as long as you want me to” to Hope doesn’t exactly inspire faith. It jut kind of hurts and makes us look like idiots. 

He didn’t have somebody who was attached to him. The thing I hate about Noah’s route the most is that it forces you to be snakey about it. You kiss him without talking to Hope first/while yo’re coupled up with someone else. There’s no way to just be straight up with Hope and say “look, I have feels for him” and compete fair and square. You can’t go after him and still have a moral character. 

There wasn’t a better option in the villa (apart from Tahlia). MC had good cause to dump Levi/Mason after everything and be with Jake without feeling guilty, but we don’t have that luxury this season. Especially with Bobby and the Casa boys, we have absolutely no good reason to dump them for Noah (and the game basically forces you into a relationship with somebody else where you have to hurt their feelings.

Jake never really had the chance to couple up with us. There was always someone else we were interested in or he couldn’t pick us first. With Noah, before now, it was always Hope picking him, or us being picked by someone else first. Even the Blake thing I can justify in my head. But there’s really no excuse for Day 22. He knew how we felt, he picked first, and he picked her. And while I understand his reasons, it’s very hard to justify pursuing him after that. We can only swallow our pride so much.

No matter how I think about it, the only truly satisfying way they can tie up Noah’s route now is if it comes out that Hope’s been playing him all along, and so he’s free to pick who he wishes without guilt. And honestly i can’t say I’d actually like that, because despite everything I’d rather them not turn her into a straight up villain. 

I think this is more realistic than the Jake situation, definitely (i mean how many times have you said you’re done with someone and then immediately forgiven them in the next sentence for no good reason), but it’s much harder to play. 

Why have a couple go to the hideaway so early?

but mostly important… Trent is friend zoning MC 😿😿 he said that he hoped we could still be friends and, despite being more into Rui, i asked him “just friends?” I COULDN’T HELP MYSELF LOL 🫣 now i really am confused between the two, and Kai situation won’t help either…… please tell me i’m not alone in this 🙏🏼

Omg bestie, I’m right there with you!! I was actually enjoying being coupled with Rui and then Kai just blew that up. And I do feel bad for Kai- he seems like a lovely guy, but now my MC will look rude because she’s gonna hang out with Rui. It’s like last season all over again, like fb come on 😫

Oh and Trent trying to friend-zone MC, like dude. I totally asked “Just friends?” 😜

So he’s leaving the door open at least. My hot take- we know Trent is beige flags. He doesn’t exactly put himself out there when it comes to MC. I have this head canon for him that maybe he was shy or awkward growing up. But then he focused on acting, not dating or social skills, so now that he’s got all this attention he doesn’t know how to handle it. And maybe he’s scared to tell MC outright that he likes her, because she’s got options, but so does he. So he just goes along with whatever comes. Not great, but I can make excuses for it. It’s also kinda refreshing to have a potential LI exploring with other partners. It’s at least a change from the love-bombing-on-day-two LI 💀 We’ll see how long I can tolerate it 😂
