Okay here’s the thing, I don’t hate the ending. I don’t love it, because I don’t think anybody loves it. But if I can try to wrap my head around what I want to say about the finale, it’s this- everything we’ve seen about Aziraphale and Crowley is only a very minute, small amount of the time they’ve spent together. It’s not our story, it’s theirs. And yeah, they could’ve kept their memories. But I don’t think that’s the point. I think the point is that they get to live in a universe where Crowley writes books about the stars, where Aziraphale gets to have a mother. I think the point, although admittedly rushed, is that even in a universe with nothing else there is still them.
