It drives me wild when I hunched that Sora = Kairi are one because of the strong narrative parallel to C.G. Jung's journey to individuation...
Then I looked at the Celestial Trio as a parallel since they have sun, moon, star; just like how that design points to Sora=moon, Riku=sun, and Kairi=star.
Then I hunched IF Nomura's really really consistent to this psychological narrative then w/o consolation of Isa ever "finding subject X" could Isa possibly be one with Skuld/Subject X now? Then maybe he would have a moon and a star if their story is truly concluded ...so I go check KH3 ending and lo and behold there it fucking was!!!
It's so freaking insane -- cuz if you think about it...why was KH never seen as psychological lmao when the very first world we get introduced to in KH1 is Alice in Wonderland which is canon A DREAM. Which also explains why KH numbered series begins and ends with Sora because it's Sora's dream-- that's why Sora is that important to the game. Plus there's all of this things about sense of self, memories, hearts, mind, body, spirit, askdfga liek hello?????? Anyone else that is seeing this????

Why is Sora and Mickey standing on the black side-- 2.9 side before the 3.
And why is Riku on the white side huh-- and is quite on the 3 or 3.1 MAN your paneling -- literally taking OUR eyes off of Riku on purpose too askdjfahsdg
Roxas fractured Riku's left wrist during their fight in Days, when Riku sought to capture him and wake Sora from his sleep. This is why in KH2 and DDD he wears the wrap around it. Roxas fractures it with Oblivion, which is ironic, since Oblivion represents Sora's forgotten memories of Riku. [I'm pretty convinced it represents the forgotten memory of his death, and a promise they made as children, specifically]
During the DDD intro rendition of Riku and Sora's fight with Xemnas, you can see it is clearly bothering him. He looks at it and flexes it, before Xemnas punts him. This blow appears to be across the face/left shoulder, but it's not really clear. Probably also hurt super bad.
After this, when Xemnas is about to finish off Sora, Riku deflects the blow and pushes Sora to safety, leaving him open to this blow from Xemnas.
Which I believe also fractured the left side of his hip. This is why he had so much trouble walking after the battle, and had to be helped by Sora.
I find Riku's walk very stiff, especially compared to other characters. And I might be imagining it, but I feel like he has an ever so slight limp, barely there at all. Fractures around joints can cause stiffness and arthritis when they don't set properly.
When Riku stands to protect Sora, he presents the left side of his body foremost. His most damaged side.
When the darkness begins consuming his body, the camera again intentionally focuses on his left leg and left hand, and you can see them falter slightly. Especially his hand, you can see it contort. Riku is actually in a shit ton of pain here. That's why Sora gasped and reached out to him, he could see it hurting him.
Riku has physical handicaps, his left wrist and left hip, that both originated from him protecting Sora. Not to mention how he stood there and literally let the darkness eat him alive trying to protect him.
So I want to point out the significance of this scene at the end of KH2.
Upon seeing Kairi, in his joy Sora immediately seems to forget about Riku's injuries, which came from... Riku protecting him. Riku is shown growing distant in the background, walking slowly, struggling, being left behind by Sora. But he's happy that Sora is happy, and safe, because that's what's most important to him. I imagine however, that he was also incredibly sad watching Sora run to Kairi, knowing that Sora wanted to be next to her at that moment rather than him, even though Riku had suffered so much for his sake.
The way the shot is framed, as Sora runs toward Kairi, he blocks out the sun completely.
If he had stopped, turned around, and looked at Riku, he would have been looking directly at the light.

So like...me wanna cry over this bit.
When after Sora locked Riku away in KH1... Then in Another Side, Another Story ...there's this.
"HIs Voice ... It's left me."
So they were separated and everything...until KH2
Then Sora hears Riku's voice (NOT ANSEM'S) saying this as Sora fucking cries. It's been such a long journey to reunite again with Riku wasn't it? It must've been sooo good to hear his voice again huh, Good for you, Sora. T^T /
Then Kairi's growth from wanting to leave/abandon Riku to...being the glue to reunite Sora to Riku again. TvT <3 Poetic
The King and His Sun
I can't help but draw a really strong parallel in the similarities of themes between Sora and Riku's relationship to The Ranking of Kings Boji and Kage.
In the final episode of this anime the title was: The King and His Sun. Step-mother Hiling told Boji that she saw that to Boji...Kage was like the Sun to him.
But Kage is shadow...and Riku is what KH fans see on the surface level as that dood that fell into darkness.
However, Kage was the one that believed in Boji the most while everyone else is so sus that he got what it takes to be a king. Kage is the one that always voices out for Boji, and he's the one that's guided Boji throughout his whole journey: able to cheer Boji up and build his confidence up or confront him when he's lacking courage. Riku is like this to Sora only more subtle though-- Riku is the one that voiced out that Sora was only obstinate because he was worried when the others were just making fun of him-- and calmed Sora down. Riku tells everyone in KG to believe in Sora, Riku is the only one that didn't doubt Sora and didn't needed convincing when Sora tells him "he got this" in RoD, then ofc there's the momentous sacrifice when Sora gave up-- he says "you won't give up" [which is like KH1 too where when Sora was about to give up in the end Riku's voice reached him saying "C'mon Sora I know you're stronger than that."]
Boji went on his journey because he lost Kage...not exactly parallel chain of events.. but it is because of Riku that Sora also went out on his journey. Boji was able to reunite with Kage at Hell's Pit-- when KH1 ended... Sora was only able to reunite with Riku in KH2 in The Land that Never Was which I kinda equate to hell because of Pluto and Diz (I just learned another name for Hades is Dis -- so like HELLO?) .... KH4 will be another re-enactment of this reunion probably because the trailer does show that Hades will be involved this time around. Anyways it's also in Hell does Boji get trained to be the strongest being... so the night sea journey/afterlife/modern hell of Sora's in KH4 will most likely going to be about that too where he'll face his fears, accepts his limitations and gain a new strength [Xemnas: in weakness a new strength can be found] -- and prolly the line "together (w/ Riku) we can do it!" is going to be used roflmao yeah my imagination is going wild because of all the parallels aaaaaaa
Kage disappeared when Boji became King...but Boji went after him and they reunited at Dawn. Q-Q Theeenn there's Sora and Riku where they were happy to be together in darkness in KH2...if KH4 is going to flip that scenario...then they will be happy to go now together walking side by side to the light aka a new tomorrow/Dawn. [fulfilling that promise of reuniting at end's road in CoM's ending -- and finally going one a journey together like how young Riku had wanted to go with young Sora] Anyways, It's going to be so fcking beautiful aaaaaa

On another note, I do wonder if Yozora’s height is the same as Ansem SoD ~~~ It can not only be me that noticed the pointy sides of KH3 Sora’s hair is eerily like Ansem SoD’s right??
