I lurk in an even deeper cave of shame, Anon! I’m afraid that before the nsfw purge of tumblr I saved everything in my blogs with the intent to upload to mega and have it available for anyone to download if they wanted, but before I could get around to that my hard drive died and it took those backups with it. ;n; Aside from the reblogs of vilesporadic and miscsporadic posts people might keep on their own blogs, I’m afraid much of that content is lost forever. I didn’t have it uploaded anywhere else and I couldn’t save the backup from the damaged hard drive, otherwise I’d send you a link right now so you could save them.

Once you start uploading your art online, having it stolen, traced, or reposted without proper credit is just something that’s likely going to happen, to varying degrees depending on the appeal your art has and your luck. It’s not something you can avoid, and I’ve yet to see any site that has effective tools to keep people from doing this (they might be a bit invasive if they existed, or more harmful than good – keep you from saving pictures to your computer? Run an automated comparison to every picture in their database to make sure no one uploads it more than once?).

There’s no 100% surefire way to avoid it, so my advice would be not to stress out about it because it might be unavoidable, and you shouldn’t stress out over things you can’t stop.

But! Merrily there are ways for you to bring people back to your own content.

You can sign/watermark your work! Not a huge “DA” over it like deviantart, which obscures the art far too much, but putting your blog/domain/artist handle on a piece can help people interested in your art find you, even if someone’s uploaded it anywhere else without your permission.

You can politely ask people in your description uploads to avoid reuploading/reposting your stuff anywhere else. You might think it doesn’t do much, but it lets your viewers know you’re against your stuff being reposted elsewhere, and they might do some reaching out for you if they spot someone unknowingly sharing stuff around. Not that anyone’s audience is required to do this, but some people are just nice and mindful and they’ll do it out of the goodness of their hearts.

And for all the paranoia going around about “x site stole my design and they’re selling it on X merchandise!”, most of the time what you’re looking at are sites with user uploads where accounts aren’t verified and content isn’t checked before upload: most of these sites will have customer service you can reach out to in order to request your art being taken down, as the person who uploaded it is not the original artist, and you hold the intellectual property to anything you create.

I can’t tell you how you should feel about it: that’s personal and while I wish people won’t torture themselves over inevitable things, distress is as valid an emotional response as any. Sometimes it helps to ask yourself “even if the thing I fear happens, what’s the worst that can come out of it?” and work around that (e.g. “situation: my art gets used to sell shirts - solution: I reach out to the store that’s allowing it to raise a complaint.” / “situation: someone reposts my art on twitter - solution: I ask the user to take it down politely, and if they ignore me I report the account to twitter”).

Because my blogs are all fanart and because I don’t monetize it, I tend not to worry too much about the possibility of my content being reposted or used anywhere else, so long as it’s non-commercially. People linking back to me is nice, but not necessary for me, and if people really like your stuff the universe has a way of having them find you eventually!

You’re right in that everything posted to this blog is 100% driven by self indulgence hahah. I used to be lowkey ashamed of it when I was younger and even when I started uploading my own canon-derivative stuff vs just fanart of the show or other people’s lovely fanfics, I was worried it might not be well received or be written off as bad as a synonym for self indulgence.

Instead I found a bunch of people who enjoy similar things and even people who hadn’t considered them but sent me a ton of support to continue my own take on the canon content. I’ve made amazing friends thanks to that, so I’d encourage people to always enjoy fandom to its fullest and not worry about what others might think of your guilty pleasures.

I mostly have tags for my OPM AUs, but not for the MP100 ones because I barely spend more than one or two posts on each, hah.

For the ole OPM AUs I usually tagged them as consistently as I could remember as follows:

Oh, I love Touichirou and its all BONES’s fault, honestly.

I don’t recall him having much of an impact on me in the manga, perhaps because the way things were presented it didn’t feel like Touichirou had issues that much deeper than just delusion (with all due respect if others interpreted it differently! This is just how he came off to me). And while that delusion very obviously distanced him from the people around him, coworkers and family alike, it didn’t feel like something that had that great an emotional impact on him, y’know? It was just something he hadn’t realized and which helped in his rehabilitation, but which didn’t impact him heavily.

And then BONES came and said “yes, well, Line, I bet we can make you change your mind there” and I absolutely DID.

I’d spent two episodes wondering if they’d just decided to cut out the background info on the Suzuki family (I was very invested in the general confirmation that artificial espers weren’t a thing and the further context of Shou not being tortured as a kid, as that was a point of conflicting interpretation I had with some friends and I thought BONES’s adaptation just might be the best to clear it up), and I’d just about given up on it when BAM, right when I least expected it, framed in a way I didn’t anticipate, we get a peek into Touichirou’s past.

The blue-tinted scenes with his family legitimately made me cry (but I cry very easily so take that as you will), and it made me expand my perception of World Domination from “The Arc where Mob saves the world after a very long nap” to also include “Touichirou’s Arc. And DANG, did they set that up masterfully in the background to sneak the climax on you!

There’s still no doubt Touichirou’s story is about the extremization of self entitlement, but BONES’ adaptation added an angle I hadn’t expected, hinting at how what made Touichirou special made him lonely, and showing us how that spiraled to the point it destroyed what little happiness he’d managed to attain for himself.

I love Isekai anime! Or the concept of them, really, hahah.

I’m very male-centric in my media consumption, and a lot of isekai tends to lean heavy on largely-female casts. That in itself is not always a deal breaker, but if there’s a large female cast AND the anime relies a lot on harem tropes or the world building has far too many holes, I have a hard time staying engaged.

Two isekai anime I really like are Log Horizon and Rising of the Shield Hero – I’ve seen other ones floating around but the promo stuff relies a bit heavily on fanservice of the female cast so I haven’t checked them out proper!

The concept of them is very charming, whether the MC knows absolutely nothing about the new world and needs to work their way up or we’re talking about an expert who can exploit the world’s new rules. Fish-out-of-the-water is just such a lovely starting setup!

I realize I’m talking largely about the modern trend of “isekai into gaming”, but Inuyasha and Kuromukuro probably fit the boot, too. I guess I’m just a sucker for a cute male MC either being completely puzzled by the new world around him, or a nerdy male MC being given the chance to be the OP-est of the OP.

Except Sword Art Online, that one I didn’t like hahah.

Well ok this isn’t particularly shippy but you know it’s on my mind.

I love the body swap trope and I have absolutely no reasoning behind why Mob’s spirit was out of his body or why he got yeeted back to the ground. I just know I had to draw Kurama nearby and willing to help catch it so silly shenanigans could occur.

I’d also like you to know at least 80% of the reason I keep gushing about this is I have a bunch of friends who are terribly enabling of it.

Like a little boy, pretty much, hahah. He’s not child-aged, but with his initial power levels he can’t really maintain a more grown-up form for long. When he gets involved with Ekubo he can form and maintain a grown-up appearance instead of a tiny kid one (Mob can shapeshift into almost anything, he just prefers a youthful plain look).

Given tumblr’s decision to ban all adult content since the 17th of December last year, I decided to take down vilesporadic and rolesporadic (because that one also had a lot of nsfw ficlets)!

I know at the moment nsfw blogs are just kept in dashboard-only view, but I’ll be honest: tumblr is so laughably incompetent and uncaring about its users, I don’t trust them to not ban people who continue holding nsfw blogs down the line, and I didn’t want to lose this blog and miscsporadic!
