Link is a convict from earth, sent on a mission (willingly for Zelda) to save the stars (and die). He's got the qualifications (barely), but it's hard doing it alone. Thankfully he meets an alien he's named Marin (she's the color of his childhood dog he loved as a kid). After they save earth and go (return) to Erid, the Eridians set him up with a sweet new dome to live out the rest of his days comfortably (oc he's got a job, he's teaching kids. He likes kids).
At some point Marin finds out while they were gone they got a visitor from a place with no sun or stars, but life still thrived (in a way). The scientist decided to study them and their ship to see if they can make a plan B. You know. Just in case. They had an atmosphere and set up almost exactly like Link's (explains why they built his so fast), but instead of his blue grey ocean, this life form required an ocean of blood. It took them QUITE some time to figure that out.
At some point this new (old) guy gets some Dry Erase markers and draws some eyes on his helmet and will draw a mouth according to his mood that day. It's generally happy.
You can read the fic prompt here
Rav can pick up on chemical differences with his many feelers and is able to roughly translate sounds and their intentions. No one knew about his freaky mouth and he makes Marin sweat not to tell anyone.
At first Rav isn't sure if the atmosphere is safe, so he uses what little blood his tank is basically pumping out to refill his helmet (he's figured out he can breath blood in awhile ago) until the rock creatures replicate it. Even when he does, hes to nervous about his changing body (even if it's stopped since coming out of the other side of the fissure) to take it off. Plus the radiation only recently started to die down. He finally does after awhile (in Link's bathroom) and finds out he can basically pass as still human (save for the long feelers on his head). His skin is very flabby and can be stretched out, and he's got a splitting headache constantly (and he's sprouting fingers almost everywhere), but everything can be roughly hidden (save for the antenna, his mind goes a bit numb when they aren't out in the open and he feels VERY claustrophobic).
He's also not trying to think of everyone as food (Link is leaning towards mate tho).
At some point he turns into a sea angle/Bunny thing that the Eridians care for like a pet fish (turns into a blood creature after he returns to his universe with Link and Marin, trying to help his people). He's mostly not there, but he always sees Link as a mate (sea slugs are hermaphrodites fun fact) and Eridians as possible food that feeds him so he won't eat them. Most of his bones are free floating save for his skull that's been split into 4. Hilda hasn't shown Link the X-rays and that there's no chance of him returning. Her science team (both human and Eridians) are thankfully keeping this from everyone.
Originally wanted to make one more of them interacting but I kinda need to lock in a bit if I wanna hit 6 pieces for Art Fight this month cuz I'm hella slow.
I don't like drawing rocks so I bullshitted Marin's design. She looks like a fruit. And yes. I did draw Ravio first.
