The Ackles Family Part 7:

A young Tails from @reidluver's The Fox and the Hedgehog series ends up briefly in the Sunshine in the Rain universe to have a short but sweet interaction with Kit. Tails is so young that he imagines Kit and his big ol' ears to be his current hero at the time- Dumbo. Further explanation + details below

Which elements/nations would you place the other main characters in? Here are my headcanons :D Keith is a fire bender ofc, Lance is a water bender, I usually hc Hunk as being an earth bender and Pidge as well (I really associate her with metal bending because of her affinity with tech). But I find Allura, Coran and Shiro harder to place since they're not as heavily associated with an element in canon

And oh boy I also was thinking so much about the exact same thing xD. When I was first making the drawings I was trying to fit what timeline they would be (aang or Korra) and then what roles they would play. And then I was thinking to myself what if there wasn't an avatar in their world and zarkon took the place of fire lord ozai? What if they needed to work together to defeat the firelord that it wasn't just a one person responsibility (I had a similar idea when I was creating my own OCs a looonnngg time ago like during Aang 100 sleep and how they functioned in a world without an avatar) but the hardest thing was getting all the elements to even work together since Zarkon fucked up the world and nearly every element was doing their best to try and stop the invasion (maybe earth kingdom is taken over and most cities are under their rule. Air nomads are nearly decimated and the one stronghold they have is hidden and no one is allowed even near it. Southern water tribe is still in the same condition as it was in ATLA and perhaps only the Northern Water tribe is the last stronghold left? Idk still workshopping this)

Lance is still a water bender of course but perhaps he's from the southern trib and one of the last few ones left. He also has the markings on his chin but I hc that its because he's been blessed by the moon spirit which gives him a slight power boost during nights and definitely during full moons. I'm also still fleshing out the klance romance in this xD

Keith is from the fire nation and maybe he's like from a very prominent family (his mom) but she ran away to be with his earth bending dad amd when they get found out by the fire nation its shiro who rescues him and hes been staying with him ever since. And since the earth kingdom is mixed with fire nation he doesnt have to hid his ability just maybe his knife that belong to his mother. he doesn't find out about his true heritage until they run into the BOM.

Hunk would still totally be an earth bender that just gets along so well with lance that it just seems they were BFFs even though they never saw each other til then. (Sorry Hunk I still dont have much of ur back story)

Pidge....i did think about making her an earth/metal bender but then i remembered just like Sokka they both loved to invent and she honestly could kick ass like asami so I was thinking maybe she's from a family of earth/metal benders but she came out as a non bender but that doesn't stop her from being a menace and her tools are just as deadly. And maybe like opal in korra she finds out she's an air bender later on when they're in a life or death situation (and then maybe afterwards her bother would hound her to help him try and test out their flying inventions xD)

Shiro....with his prosthetic arm i thought it would make more sense to make him a metal bender to move his arm. And maybe he discovers this ability when he's running away with Keith (maybe he knew his dad) and when his arm got cut off and they were about to kill baby keith he got so protective that he bent the metal sword and used it to kill the fire nation soldier instead. And since then he uses metal bending as a last resort since he has a bit of PtSD? Idk like i said I was trying to flesh out these characters so quick when I was making this au xD

Allura for me felt more closer to Yue and I felt like she would still be a water bender (princess of the north water tribe) like perhaps a healer but she's also not afraid of using it to fight. She's also been blessed by the moon spirt waaaay more than Lance and offers to guide him on his spiritual powers. Maybe her spirital abilities helps her fight haggar since she probably uses a corrupt version of spiritual power?

Coran is still her advisor and probably also a non bender as wellpowers?
