i really regret not having finished mass effect andromeda. i unfortunately faced laptop overheating issues and could play for rather short stretches of time until it became scalding hot. this, compounded with my lesbian panic of whether to go for vetra or peebee, made me procrastinate the game indefinitely. and it feels like i let the haters win in some way?.. when i didnt quit because of any of their hate reasons.

first off: while i would not say "better than the main story" bc the main story is entirely what im here for, but ARANYAKA 👏 IS 👏 OVERHATED 👏 yall are just unwilling to read more than 3 lines of text and i say that as someone actually diagnosed with adhd.

anyway. i really liked the side quests in da2 - a seemingly inconsequential side quest in act 1 can then spiral and connect to the main plot in the next acts. actually the same happens with aranyaka once you figure out who is this "nara varuna" the aranaras keep yapping about. yeah i think this is what i like best - when the side quests turn out to be relevant to tne main plot and the world feels well connected.

What game would you erase from your memory just to experience it for the first time again?

i wanted to say maybe any of the dragon age series. but also as much as i enjoyed the first runs, somehow i always make better more interesting characters on the second and subsequent runs, until i run out of ideas i like. so honestly, i would prefer a second second time, when im already started up for cool protag making but still have cool ideas for them.

i cannot nominate genshin for this question as much as i love experiencing every new part of the main story, because as it is still updating i still am experiencing it for the first time!

i already recently posted this story about how l2 and animal crossing taught me a new thing about the world, which is kinda relevant here, but here is some more:

the animal crossing island decorating ways of constructing the illusion of what i want from some totally random items left a trace on my creative thinking i think!

the notion of every pokemon being someones favorite makes me feel a lot better about drawing underrated characters, especially now that i am blossoming into an artist alley vendor, because i know that for every more underrated blorbo there is an autistic person who has them as special interest and will squeal with joy seeing something of them
