nina cried power: anarchy on the streets, flares, chanting, moral righteousness, dyed hair, technicolour paintings, post-soviet graphics, faith in humanity, city smog, towering buildings. 

almost (sweet music): exhaustion, feline smiles, admiration, falling in love when you shouldn’t, slow dances in the living room, starlit nights, regret, bittersweet kisses, being left wanting more.

movement: city at night, an old theatre, watching the ballet entranced, black and white films, being moved to tears, the love of an artist to a muse, unable to touch, vintage jazz, being captured by someone’s passion.

no plan: calming down from a panic attack, collecting shells in the sand, disillusioned with the world, 3am conversations, stopping and being still, laughing when you haven’t for a longtime. 

nobody: travelling as a teenager, drunken nights in soho, bringing home knick-knacks, realising what you wanted was there the entire time, mischevious looks, accepting flaws, having fun on the town together.

to noise making (sing): old piano, blues in new orleans, listening to music that reminds you of a lover, tangled headphones, ignoring flaws, singing in the shower, humming along to music in the car together.

as it was: foxgloves, rain moving over hills, cheek caresses, old photographs, a bedroom left alone, walking in the mud and rain at dusk, resisting change, dead end, unspoken feelings, finally coming home. 

shrike: autumn mornings, freshly cut grass, braiding hair, love ballads, whispered confessions onto the autumn breeze, daisy chains, smiling fondly, being guided down a path, lying by a small creek.

talk: intelligent eyes, classics lectures, unrequited love, offering your heart, passion, cigarette smoke, crossing your legs, false formality, loyalty, hopeless romantic,  “imagine being loved by me”. 

be: cold showers, wild seas, old worn poetry books, staying still, wanting someone you love to stay the same, pebbled beaches, yelling your feelings into the waves, searching for peace. 

dinner & diatribes: silk dresses, flirtatious smiles, intimidating people around you, power couple, sick of false images and people, satisfying desire, drunken laughter, running down hotel hallways, hurt pride. 

would that I: kayaking down a river, drinking beer riverside under willow trees, the sound of laughter, passionate kisses, holding onto someone, sea glass, comfort in knowing you are both not the one but still loving each other.

sunlight: linen dresses, sunflowers, vincent van gogh paintings, summer sun, loving someone who lightens your world, feeling protective, polaroid photos, admiring someone as they sleep in the morning sun.
