ANIMON STORY IS MY FAVOURITE TABLETOP ROLEPLAYING GAME AND THE FIRST TIME I FELT LIKE I WAS A GOOD DM.

In our first session, my players got to play around with some goofy fun as they learned the skill system while they attempted to find their way out of the sunken husk of what was once their school, learned about the monster-taming game inspired world as they interacted with my very own mascot character, Scrapcoon, and then got the fear of God put in them as a colossal monster shot an equally massive laser beam in the air.

Our most recent adventure had our kids arriving in Arachne Strand, the former manor of the Pirate King Gossamer which since her defeat had been converted into a sprawling fun complex with arcades and carnival games and theatres and a food court. Our heroes merriment was short lived as the animon running the Strand began to systematically murdered in grizzly fashion. They've retracted the killer to the sealed attic where they discovered Lepidopera (a phantom of the opera themed butterfly monster), Gossamer's remaining loyal subject who sought vengeance for what had become of her palace. Making clever use of a life size plush of Gossamer one of the Kids had won, they lured Lepidopera into a trap and bested him soundly before any more people could be hurt

You too could build a character just like the heroes from your most beloved monster shows (Digimon, Monster Rancher, etc.) and then together with your friends explore and live it the middle school fantasies you used to dream about.
