Really Crazy Art Coming Up In The Next 7-8 Years

if you know nothing about umineko the briefest possible context is that bernkastel (seen above) is a witch with a swarm of cat familiars she uses to hunt people down. here's an interesting bit from the episode 7 manga

(has some added interest for those of you who believe kris will lose their hand)

and a few quotes from episode 8 of the vn

"That single cat should make you as scared as being surrounded by a crowd of vicious beasts. Plus, they're cats. They've got good senses, and they'll call for their friends. If they spot you, you'd better be prepared for what happens next."

"If Battler's group was found, the cats would report it instantly. They would probably form a pack, open their large mouths and swallow them in a single gulp."

"The number she dialed was short. It was probably an internal line. However, after listening to it ring several times, she slammed the receiver down again, finally managing to break the phone. '......Gather all the cats who aren't busy. ... The cats I had guarding the key aren't responding!!!'"

i imagined tenna as the judge naturally, but i think he would be less of an airhead like the aa judge, and more of a kangaroo court-style judge. partly bc he's petty and partly bc he knows that a good show needs stakes/conflict :p he's silly like that

i picked tasque manager as prosecutor almost entirely bc she looks like franziska lol. (but also she fits the role on her own) another bad photo incoming

i see this as tenna putting on a courtroom drama show with the lightners as the stars. i don't know when this would even fit into the canon timeline, but let's all pretend that doesn't matter :]

as for the cases? idk i thought defending jevil from a false murder charge would be funny. he was asleep, your groovy-ness. another idea would be tenna trying to sue spamton over the contract and having a full aa-style breakdown when forced to acknowledge his guilt in spam's downfall :] i like when he's consumed by guilt

i recorded a timelapse of this but i needed to do it in chunks so i'll have to edit that together some other time, sorry 😔

Phew! Finally free from the comic mines. I wrote/sketched this before chapters 3&4. You can probably tell that this was written before we knew more about Kris's motivations, but I think it still works. Originally I planned to have this finished before they dropped, and I did all of the line art and some of the coloring within a few days before release. Ultimately I decided not to so I could enjoy the game :p
