calva says that dust would admit what he does in full honesty to everyone else but papyrus. instead for his brother, he tries to cover it up with fairy tale metaphors and the such... ahhh it's so tragic 💔💔💔 he can't bring himself to be open with papyrus about what he's become but he has Another papyrus (in his head) that he can be fully open with and even encourages him to keep going 💔 fully accept the reality and betray the final sliver of morality he has or deny what's infront of him and betray his own kin's autonomy just for a little peace of mind..................HAGHHHHH dust sans MY BLORBOOOOO
ofc papyrus would see right through his lie he's not an idiot (and we love him for that) but thats not what matters here... what dust is doing violates the will of everyone around him including papyrus he's the one choosing who gets to live and who dies (and he very rightfully freaks out about this in the 10th anni fic). i seriously doubt that dust would ever fully open up about to papyrus. calva says that he would tell him about it (because theres no way dust could carry that burden all on his own)
but being fully open and truthful is completely off the table. its ironic how he thinks 'it's better if i do it' when it comes to killing papyrus but when it comes to being truthful he'd probably rather papyrus never find out or at the very least not have to admit it. it would be the ultimate betrayal of their brotherhood and also his own morality for papyrus to find out because what if he loses hope in dust and thinks of him as the worst? or even WORSE what if he still does have hope in him to change and be better??? it would be the biggest slap across the face that even after all that he's done papyrus still believes in him and with how much dust hates himself he wouldnt want to hear it at all. for someone who's only become like this because he truly has no other options left hearing that he could become a better person if he just tried from the person he loves most is miserable. dust HAS tried every other option there was and in the end there was no other possibility aside from this. he has no other choice but to bear the cross and become the worst person. yet papyrus will never know this, and dust will never escape this. at least not in dusttale

At the risk of sounding anti-intellectual, I think that college should be free and also not a requirement for employment outside of highly specialized career fields
