Winter had finally made its debut in the city and it was time to get those last minute winter essentials. Kyo carried the heavier groceries as you both waited for the bus and talked about gift ideas. Somehow, in your haste to get dressed, you had forgotten gloves. While it was fine at first and you managed to snag a pair during your shopping escapade, they proved to be a little too thin for the current temperature.
"Kyo," you shivered, breaths coming out in thick puffs of steam as you tried to keep your hands warm by stuffing them in your coat pocket with little success. "When is the next bus?" Kyo had a smug look on his face.
"Oh? Is my dear little Kiki cold? Need her big strong boyfriend to warm her up?" Even though you scoffed and playfully shoved his shoulder, he takes your gloved hands and puts them on his face, letting his body warm up intensely. For a moment, you were worried he would combust and burn your groceries in his attempt to be goofy and warm you at the same time, but he doesn't.
The sight is enough to make you blush, because even if his antics as a super doting boyfriend are nothing new, he's still unbelievably cute when he does it. "K-Kyo!"
"What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't warm my girlfriend up in her time of need?" As you laugh at his shenanigans, he looks on with adoration as your dark skin deepens more from mirth than the chill.
Yep, you're definitely the one. He hopes he can always make you laugh like this. When the bus finally arrives, he holds your hand not only to help you on but to keep you warm.
Now that he thinks about it, Kiki Kusanagi does have a nice ring to it.
