Aside from the occasional football mascot, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a furry irl
Incorrect, you’ve never seen a FURSUIT irl. Furries are all around us hiding in plain sight.

nope. funkytown again
fear not: you can also “attack” your friends even outside of art fight, so if you miss the chance to before august 2nd you can always get them after with no repercussions. No crime will be committed either way and its actually fine to draw art for others at any other time of the year

MORE BLACK MAGICAL GIRLS MORE LATINA MAGICAL GIRLS MORE INDIGENOUS MAGICAL GIRLS MORE TRANS MAGICAL GIRLS
Pronoun roles on discord servers aren't a bad idea, but there is the fun implication that you can ping an entire pronoun set.
Hey I got a problem with something, this is an all they/thems on deck situation
genuinely awesome
The first photo is from 1956. It shows a Black woman watching members of the Ku Klux Klan (a terrorist, racist, far-right organization focused on white supremacy) walking along a sidewalk in Montgomery, Alabama (USA). I couldn't find the photo's author, but most sources state that it was taken in 1956.
The second photo shows members of the Patriot Front group (a white supremacist and nationalist group, formed in 2017, that openly advocates what they call "American Fascism") traveling on the subway during the 250th anniversary of the U.S. independence in Washington D.C., while a Black woman watches them. The photo is by photographer Cheney Orr, taken on July 4, 2026, 70 years after the first photo.

i really thought the point of "being lgbt+ doesn't absolve you of racism as a white person" was that white people arent absolved of racism by being marginalized but it really seems like people think other marginalizations make it okay. no being disabled doesn't do it. no being poor doesnt do it. we need to fight against racism actively no matter what.

thinking about edvard munch's "The Sun" (1911)
like yeah thats how it feels. thats what it feels like to exist sometimes. he gets it
Also very big! Takes up two stories!
Hey! Do you feel like you developed your style organically, or was there inspiration from other artists involved? I will come across art I absolutely love and would like to draw like, but it doesn’t come naturally for me. Is a “style” something you practice?
a) It's a mix between 'I like to draw like this' but there is definitely inspiration from other artists b) yes, 'style' is something I practice and will continue to practice. It's probably not so easy to tell from my flight rising skins and art, since I default to a comfortable style and I don't even use textured brushes for my FR skins.
I look at a lot of other people and how they draw. It's healthy and everyone should do it. For me, it's not really 'I want to draw in the style of x person' but identifying something in their art I really admire and would like to do as well as them. When I'm trying to get better at lineart, I look at extremely accomplished comic artists (and a lot of my times my friends, LOL) and try and pick out what they're doing correctly that I can improve on.
It's similar to the concept of doing master studies. If you admire someone's 'style', try and identify what makes that style appealing to you. Then draw a few things for yourself trying to pick out what those things are. If you're doing technical studies like that, it's good practice to either not post them or credit the original artist.
Style = technique + familiarity. What I call my 'lineart style' or 'colouring style' is just what I consistently do, whether its unconscious or intentional. Sometimes when you work at getting better in certain technical skills, your 'style' will naturally evolve as well.
Lately lineart-wise I've been admiring French comic artist Moebius' work. His use of negative space and texture is very very cool!
