Beach scene number 1: “We’re going to the beach.” Sam took Astrid’s hand. “You want us to come?” Edilio asked. Lana put her arm through his and said, “No, Edilio: they don’t.” Edilio Escobar is the biggest cockblocker in history. Beach scene number 2: “Okay. I’m relaxed. Now can I get back to work?” Astrid took his arm and all but hauled him across the beach. “You know what’s interesting, Sam? I’ll tell you what’s interesting. A fairly small disturbance in deep water, creating a ripple, a surge, can become a pretty impressive wave as it nears shore.”

sam hugged dekka, and the two of them stayed that way for a long time, saying nothing.

Astrid nodded like she understood, but then said, “That’s not going to happen this time.”

it was his first night in new york and he still found himself glued in front of the tv. playing games occasionally having his attention pulled away from the sound of his phone going off. texting his best friend to let her know that this place was fine so far, no murders, no creep phone calls at night. and it’d be a hell of a lot better if she was here with him. though he only threw that factor in once or twice. his hues narrowed as a small glare seemed to cover the screen, a shiver spread down his spine. the effort to pause his game to found some sort of jacket seemed too much at the time. though he was desperately wanting, feeling completely and utter forgetful due to the fact that he knew new york was going to be cold, he just didn’t expect it to get old this quickly especially in his room. 

it took a minute or two for sam to realize that it probably wasn’t his apartment. “woah, sorry brah.” he spoke up, although he slightly distracted by the television and video game sounds. it had been forever since he had played a video game, or even seen a television that was actually on. 

A WHIFF, only one had nearly set the VEGETARIAN vampire on a frenzy. Carlisle had always managed to RESIST the temptation of HUMAN blood. He knew who he WANTED to be and who he DIDN’T wish to be. The scent only grew stronger causing his JAW to lock.  ‘ IS this what they meant by HELL on earth ??– ’ doomed to eternal damnation REGARDLESS of his efforts to cleanse his soul. A clenched fist, drove his finger nails deep into the palm of his hand. AS if to physically fight off the URGE. The source of his affliction came from the body he was currently HOVERING over. A woman had been assaulted and left for dead. Eyes near black, he NEEDED to feed. This woman wasn’t going to make regardless of his efforts. The blood on his hands only made the temptation that MUCH more appealing.  Conflicted he just held her hand until she passed, his INTERNAL struggle colliding with his MORALS.

sam had seen his fair share of dead bodies, but it was almost strange to see that it was a grown woman. it was less depressing, that was for sure. not that it was a happy sight to see necessarily. just, it feel good to know for once that he couldn’t be blamed. he wasn’t in charge of her, he wasn’t in charge of anyone anymore. or at least, that’s what it seemed like. his gaze moved to the older man, holding her hand. “what are you doing?” he asked, although it was painfully obvious.

          “i’m not sure what you’re trying to ACHIEVE, but i’m not in the mood for childish games right now.” considering he doesn’t even know where he IS or WHEN he is.

“i just asked you where my friends were, do you think i’m playing hide and seek or something? i’m serious.”

“I do. I mean if anyone is above anyone, it’s you.”

“I’m flattered man but I dunno if I believe that.”
