An excellent, articulate article discussing “Recovery Stories” and the complex impressions and impacts they bring about

But my biggest concern is longevity, scalability, and the whole 'too many cooks' thing (and its opposite).

Under the cut cuz I'm gonna ramble, but I think its a really important piece of this communal conversation, as someone who's vessel has experience in project/team management:

I don't know many other apps, but I'd recommend looking at the @/systemprojects blog, if you haven't heard of it already. It's a blog which reblogs information about new projects and app releases, and gives disclaimers when they learn an app may be unsafe or use AI.

What I wouldn't recommend is SystemConnect. Essentially, it's made with AI and apparently had a severe security vulnerability that anyone who knows how to access the API can easily get your username an password. Don't know if the issue was ever fixed, as I haven't kept the most up to date on these apps.

However, the way we do it, is to use different browsers entirely for different purposes, i.e., we're signed into our photography-related ones on Firefox, and poetry-related ones on LibreWolf, etc (6 total browsers). Albeit, this method is a bit more complicated due to using more browsers, but didn't learn about the multi-account containers till after this method, and was already stuck in our ways.

And haven't really looked into how it works on the iPhone, but Firefox seems to lack this feature there, but Safari has different profiles there to keep browsing and cookies separate, which should allow you to keep signed into multiple accounts at once and avoid the constant logging in and out.

No everyone can use plural marketed things, parental controls for example, i think the community kind if forgets that

i think overall with the shut downs its made me realize that sthe best way for these system apps to happen in a f2u way would be smaller apps, i feel the community focuses on having "the big system app", but as stated it was supposed to be for friends and family, it wasnt meant to grow to the size it did. I think having that possibility pushes alot of people away from making their own , the fact that there already is "the big one".

My recommendations for ways to track your system

Notes apps, Id recommend one thats not your phones default and with an account system, most allow image inserts. You can separate alter pages with different notes "How do i track front"

I would recommend making a new front log every month, it makes it alot easier than scrolling, especially if youre a switchy system

Or another way would be with some kind of scheduling app!

"what about organizing " most note apps have some way to seperate and organize the notes

app recommendations i have used Google keep, notion, ive heard good things about evernote and simplenote. Im not good with scheduling apps for those.

On the left side, it tracks when someone starts and ends fronting. On the right side, we occasionally track how present an alter is, just here and there throughout the day. We're considering assigning letters to other symptoms too, so we can track both fronting and symptoms in one sticky note.

Of course, keeping track of many sticky notes would get kinda chaotic after a while. Therefore, a record of past fronting and presence histories is recorded in a spreadsheet I made. This spreadsheet inspired by this Reddit post, but modified it to be more simplistic and work for us. I show an example below.

We're considering switching from sticky notes to a disc-bound notebook (a type of notebook that allows papers to easily be moved around), so we can have a planner mixed with tracking fronting, presence, and symptom histories in one book.
