A Conversation with Erik Meade- bassist for Death (1985)
http://truepunkmetal.blogspot.com/search/label/Interview
This is a compilation of all the bands recorded material. Β My relationship came about with members of this band through an old Canadian friend named Simon Harvey. Β Simon was raving about this Canadian grind outfit that had two singers that were mind blowing, and the perfect mesh of metal and hardcore. Β Simon put out a split LP with Human Greed and Shitfit in 1993-94. Β I fell in love with Human Greed prior to the album even coming out (as Simon leaked me a tape). Β Over the years we (Monster X, and Devoid Of Faith) played many shows with these guys, and Monster X was even lucky enough to do a split 7" with them. Β HG played in Albany with us I believe twice in the mid 90s, and we played in Canada with them. Β We loved them as people and as a band. Β They were hardworking animal rights and environmental people, and it came through in their music. Β When these grindmasters broke up members went on to form Seized. Β Freddy (the drummer) went on to play in State Of Fear (ex-Disrupt dudes). Β I really miss these guys and think about Wag, Steph, Freddy, and Pat a lot. Β They've been hard to track down over the years. Β Hard to believe this junk is over 20 years old now. Β Enjoy these 22 slices of grinding hardcore.

GLEE CLUB-Looking 7" (1989) Posted: 25 Nov 2015 09:26 AM PST
When I first moved back to Albany NY from S.F. Β in around 1989 I met Brian who was the drummer of Glee Club skating at the Empire state plaza. Β He proceeded to introduce me to a lot of great friends that I still have today. This record has a lot of meaning to me because its the first record I was ever involved in putting out, and everyone involved were dear friends. Β There were three or four of us that lived in the Albany area that loved watching Glee Club live and we wanted to help them get something out. Β I had just moved back from California and couldn't stop using the term Hella cool for everything, so it became the name of our label. Β Glee Club were like 15 and 16 year old kids who loved having a good time and playing hardcore shows. Β I personally drove these guys down to Inner Ear studios to record because they worshipped that D.C. scene. Β The record didn't turn out as raw as the band sounded live, but the songs are all catchy and hold a special place in my heart. Β These straightedge kids were influenced by the Descendants, 7 Seconds, the Clash and Minor Threat. Β These guys sounded emo before any of us knew of the word.

Saw the Bad Brains a few times in the mid 80s. Was reminded about this show from my old SF buddy at the time Zoran. We'd hit like three to 4 shows a week. This one we saw at the farm in maybe 1985? DRI played almost always. I'm not complaining.
More stuff from the basement. Over a decade ago I was going to put out the No Thanks demo as a 7" on my record label. For anyone not familiar, they were a blistering NYC hardcore band fronted by a female. The bands 7" is a classic. This demo is great as well. At any rate, after a long time of communicating, and trying to get the record out, this cover is the third and final cover they submitted to me that I rejected. I think I finally just told her it looks like a 9 year old discovered photo shop. " I'm not putting anything that looks like this out". I really don't recall rejecting to many record covers in my life...maybe a few? This one particularly bothered me though. It basically started a shit storm between Donna and myself. We ended up telling one another to fuck off. No regrets about not putting this out though. Somebody else finally got through to her.
Found this in the basement with a shitload of other crap. Gig we played with Spazz, 97a and a bunch of emo bands at cb's. Oddly enough one of our best recordings(that's not saying much). Someday before I die I'd love to see these 15 songs come out on some sort of format.
More legend than human, the metal world owes Jonny Z a living! On the merit of hearing Metallica's "No Life Til Leather" demo alone, he decided to form Megaforce records, and the world of heavy music has never been the same! Tune in to hear his playlist, and post your questions on our live interactive comments board on www.wfmu.org. Jon Zazula will be live at 1pm, and you'll probably hear some good old school metal for the hour prior to his appearance! Diane's Kamikaze Fun Machine is heard on Thursdays from Noon-3PM NYC time. The PEER PRESSURE segment, starts at 1pm. WFMU is heard on 91.1FM in NYC, Northern NJ and 90.1 in the Lower Catskills and Western NJ, and 91.9 in Rockland County. WFMU is streamed on www.wfmu.org and the archive of this program will be accessible forever!

Exodus Attack!!! Kirk on guitar 1982
Supposed earliest video footage of Agnostic Front at A7 in 1983. First songs are the Psychos doing Void. Pretty damn cool.
I was confused and thought Drunk Injuns was Septic Death....
1989? Great venue where I met many of my Albany HC friends. Still sorta think later underdog sucked. American Standard seemed to play in the area once a month. Glee Club dudes were like 16 years young.

Great gig..if I recall correctly mike judge was playing drums for YOT at this gig... Pretty savage. Both YOT and token entry played Albany so frequently back then that they were almost local bands. I can recall seeing homeless people wearing token entry t shirts in Albany back in the day.
