Merlin is turned back in time, only to get stuck in a time loop.

And Merlin relishes in it.

The same day, over and over and over and Arthur is simply alive. It's a mundane day, only one assassin to kill.

Merlin's only fears are that he forgets to kill the assassin once and that this might lead to the time loop stopping.

...

What he doesn't know is that eventually, many hundred loops later, Arthur wakes up in the time loop and knows- I've done this day before. Is it like this for someone else too?

But the only one different than yesterday is Merlin. And he's a million loops different from before.

Arthur grows sick of the time loop quickly... but is he imagining it, or is it the first time in years that Merlin looks...

~August 8, 1949~

Leo Montague was standing on the balcony of the Globe Theater, facing the audience as he was giving his final speech. He was enjoying the audiences eyes on him as he put everything into his final performance.

This was the dream Leo worked to achieve and he was hoping for many more years of this. He loved the thrill of performing, bringing his love of theater out. He leaned on the balcony, ready for his death scene.

Leo felt a push from behind as his line finished. The weak railing broke and Leo fell from the balcony to the stage, breaking his neck. He heard gasps and screams from the audience and cast members. Running footsteps came toward him. "Leo! Leo, oh my god! His neck is broken!" A man said. Leo tried to look up, to see who murdered him but the world fell away. Leo closed his eyes and they never opened again.
