2010s Black Tumblr didn't die organically. It was killed. Not just by staff, not just by the porn ban, but by the white userbase as well. Black bloggers were (and still are) being mass-reported and harassed off the platform constantly. White Tumblr users would post gore in problack tags, racefake left and right in Black people's askbox, pick random AAVE to call racist/misogynistic/transphobic, etc then get the Black people who were nice enough to explain what it means to them mass reported for harassment, the list goes on.

i think it's worth remembering that there has been a multi month long ongoing harassment campaign against various transfems on this website by now, with tumblr moderation doing barely anything about it (except banning some of us), but they're currently able to find every single post vaguely mean to matt and suspend them within an hour with no reports.

it is awful what happening but i would like to remind everyone this same site did this with a bunch of black bloggers lied to all of you and said it was a psyop and we never got like recognized or much attention from it

It happen back in 2015 when BLM started and there were the Ferguson protests. Not only did they blacklist the BLM and Ferguson tag, they declared that many of the black bloggers who were vocal about activism or critical of the US and 2016 election were Russian psy-ops to sow division and chaos in America. I remember personally receiving an email telling me that one of the black bloggers I followed got terminated stating the reasons as them being a russian bots but also that they were spreading "election misinformation" (they literally were just highly critical of US institutions and the discrimination faced by BIPOC). In the last couple of years, I have seen many of my black mutuals get terminated due to targeted harassment campaign against them by racists (and often also TERFs). Another reason for taking those accounts down (and mine to at one point), is that the blog URLs contained slurs against black ppl but the thing is, those were black bloggers reclaiming the slurs the same way queer people have been reclaiming slurs like queer and faggot. My ass got deleted once because my username used to be "bongnigger". this place hates black and transgender people

its time to file another class action lawsuit against Tumblr.
