in the dark of the night, monsters play...

“Ever?” He leans in as if he’s going to kiss Sirius but pulls back at the last moment, blushing from more than just the fever.

“Ever” he says, almost sternly as he looks down at the other, a small frown on his lips as Garrett pulls away. Hesitantly at first, he reaches out and very gently takes his chin into his hands, before carefully pulling him close and kissing him softly, pulling away a moment later and looking down at him for a reaction.  

“They were…I think she’s expecting. I can tell..” He says, staring up at the ceiling sadly “she won’t tell me though, I don’t think she’s even told him”. He sighs before looking over at Garrett instead id the ceiling “Hey, Gar. No. You’re going to be fine….”. Sirius doesn’t want to think of anything like that, “you have, I’d be lost without you…you’ve left a mark on me” his voice is barely a murmur, holding the other close.

“She should tell him. It would give him something to fight for…” He turns over so that he’s facing Sirius and gently runs his fingers along his chin. “I’m pretty sure you can get another person to help you out with all your tasks and your housework. I’m not all that special.” He chuckles before coughing harshly.

“I don’t think she wants him to worry more than he has to…she’s trying to be brave…she’s young…losing your mate before you’re even twenty two can’t be as easy thing to worry over” he shakes his head, a hard frown on his lips. When he looks at Garrett and listens to his words his heart breaks “you’re far more to m than that Garrett” Sirius says as softly as he can, closing his eyes “no one can replace you”.

Garrett’s lip trembles. “Do you think Allyn is going to die? Do you think I’m going to die?” His eyes cast downwards. “Not that it would matter. I’m not important to anyone. I’m very easily replaceable, Sirius. Rufus, Jalen, and Hector would kill to take my place. They all have the biggest crushes on you.”

"/No one/ is dying" he practically growls out, "except the people who did this.." he adds, a protective arm snaking around the other. "Garrett, enough. That's not true...you matter to me...very much so...no one is replacing you, ever" he uses his free hand to gently hold Garretts chin and make him look up at him "you're going to be fine".

"I always will be" he knew he shouldn't be so protective of her, so drawn to her, e should want her far away from the pack. It's his job to keep the pack safe, those who trusted him so much, but he knows she isn't a danger to them. In a way she's one of them, he just never expects her to stay, but he considers her one of his own. At the soft feel of her lips on the corner of his mouth, the same corner peaks up into a smile "of course...do you want breakfast?" He asks.
