pairing: baby chick + gamer outfit

the main idea behind haru's mascot would be two things he considers representative of himself: his emoji (standing chick 🐥) and being a gamer (🎮) so he would propose the base plush to be a baby chick, and request it wears a hoodie and glasses along with a pair of gaming headphones or a headset with mic on top, and a gaming controller in its hand! its default facial expression would also be a playful smirk-looking face, like it's about to get up to no good - but in a cute way!

name: ruruya

as for the name... well, let's just say that "simple is best" is haru's approach to this because he could not think of something more clever! so he simply took his name, dropped the first two letters, repeated the last two and added "-ya" to the end because he is often called out to as "haru-ya" - thus, his mascot plush's name suggestion ended up being ruruya! (he think it sounds cute and a little mischievous, too, which he feels fans will agree suits him.)

personality: playful, mischievous, caring

since they're making a mascot that represents themselves, haru wanted to make sure he was reflected in his own mascot as much as possible, while still keeping things light and cute as mascots are! so he decided to make ruruya an exaggerated version of himself, where it's highly playful and mischievous to the point that it sometimes gets carried away and causes trouble for others - although it never intends to do things maliciously. ruruya loves playing and joking around with its friends, often playing pranks or acting a certain way as a joke, but can--and will--show rare moments of seriousness when push comes to shove, like to help its friends and family because despite how much it goofs off, ruruya genuinely cares for those he's close to!

likes:

gaming, of course! - ruruya loves playing games of any kind so it's not limited to just video games. even games like hide and seek or tag will get ruruya excited!!

eating snacks - just like haru, ruruya LOVES eating in general but in particular loves snacking! while ruruya loves salty and savoury snacks, it has a big sweet tooth.

napping - after all that gaming and snacking, it's only logical that the next step is sleeping! ruruya's favourite naps are midday and if it can lay in the sunlight that shine through a window in its room, for the most comfy and cozy napping conditions. (why it acts like a cat when it's far from that is just one of ruruya's charm points!)

dislikes:

vegetables - perhaps unsurprisingly, considering its sweet tooth (and it being a product of haru's imagination), ruruya is not fond of most vegeatables! it's okay with some, like potatoes and corn, but anything too green causes ruruya to look the other way and pretend it doesn't exist.

being startled - unlike haru, ruruya is easily startled and lets out a loud chirp when it is, so it does not like anything scary such as horror movies or thrillers. jumpscares are a no-go too! (its friends find it funny that ruruya gets startled easily despite how much ruruya loves pranking others, which sometimes involves scaring them.)

studying, chores, etc - dislikes anything that takes away from its "fun time" which includes gaming, playing with friends, etc! any kind of work that ruruya finds boring or uninteresting are a drag, and it will do anything to try and get out of said work.

fun facts:

ruruya's favourite food is bungeoppang, specifically the ones filled with custard or cream, while its favourite drink is banana milk!

its favourite snack is admittedly sweet pepero and pocky! they're easy to eat while it games, and hit the sweet spot it always craves.

despite its sweet tooth, ruruya has a surprisingly good spice tolerance and enjoys eating spicy food. its favourite is tteokbokki!

haru was excited being on set for the drama, just happy to have another acting opportunity so soon after his last one earlier this year. it might be a supporting role but he really does enjoy acting so even if he desires something more, he's simply glad that he even has this chance at all-- so he looks around one of the rooms assigned to be a waiting and break room for the actors to use, searching for a specific face.

once he finds him, haru bounds over to the older with a bounce in his step and an innocent smile plastered on his face. "hyung~" he almost-singsongs once he's within earshot of jiho, and basically plops himself down on the couch next to the other. "it's so strange seeing you with blonde hair now. i'm so used to seeing you with dark hair," he remarks while pulling his phone out and opening the camera app all at once. "should we film a little something and see if we can share it with etervals later?"

it started with haru scrolling through the usual suspects on his phone: tw*tter, t*iktok, yo*tube; even a quick search of his name on some online forums and news portals. but eventually he stopped moving this thumb when he landed on a short of yet another challenge that people seemed to be doing and after watching it through out of curiousity, he immediately knew what he had to do.

"AKIO!" haru yells his friend's name the moment he finds out where he is, all but bursting into the room, no trace of quietness in sight (or sound). he spots the other and immediately rushes over to him, wasting no time in holding his phone out, the video he had just found not long ago still on the screen and helpfully paused. "do you want to film a challenge with me?"

✦ a closed starter for @lgcmjun ! °˖ ✧ haru decides to pop in when he hears about versus' comeback.

it was supposed to be an otherwise normal, run of the mill day at the company. haru had shown up for a meeting about some schedules and decided since he was going to be at the building anyways, he might as well get some self-practice in, or maybe try working on a song (key word: try because he still felt wholly incapable). but then he finds out about versus' comeback while talking to agito's manager, and how they had already started preparing. haru got an idea suddenly and asked if any of the members were practicing right now; after a few moments of waiting for kyuwon to get an answer, he thanks his manager for the info and decides to pop in on minjun, after the last conversation they had in a practice room.

they've of course talked since then and obviously had some work together because of v&a, but they hadn't really talked since that time and with the comeback coming up, haru wanted to check in. he made sure not to go empty handed though, and stepped out to a nearby convenience store for some snacks and drinks, before heading back to the company and straight for the studios and practice rooms.

after double checking the door he was standing in front of was the right room, he opens the door and is blasted with music. it doesn't sound familiar to haru, so maybe this is one of versus' new songs, but haru admittedly doesn't listen to everything so maybe it's something older he's just never heard before. whatever the case, he waits until the music ends and then decides to make his presence known.

✦ MODELING CONTRACTS (Q3-Q4 2025) ! °˖ ✧ attempting to be a food critic and acting like he has an expansive palette (spoiler: he does not).

today's premise to promote passion5 seemed simple enough: taste some pastries and describe it like he knows what he's talking about when it comes to food, and try to work in a lgc song into the so-called critique. but to haru, it felt like a tall wall to cross.

the thing about haru is he's a relatively simple person, especially when it comes to his taste buds. his palette is best compared to a kid's--a lover of sweets and comforting food--with a literal kick--he handles spicy food well and actually enjoys the burn--but he's pretty clear about his likes and dislikes. while he's more than happy to taste pastries, he's worried if he can really describe anything well aside from saying it's delicious or sweet; obviously, they aren't looking for him to describe things plainly so he wanted to deliver!

unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, in hindsight), he had very little time to dwell on this concern because he was soon told he would be next on the livestream to carry out the taste test. with a nod to show he was ready, the filming starts and as if a switch flips on, haru gets right to business.

✦ CREATIVE INTERESTS ! °˖ ✧ a one-on-one meeting with lee kyuwon.

when haru first debuted, he didn't have any thoughts of contributing to the group in its creative efforts. of course, he had his preferences in what he personally liked to do, or gravitated towards in terms of what he thought suited him best or he could do well at, but as an idol, he assumed his input would be next to nothing--if anything at all--because he assumed it would be higher ups and staff who decided everything.

at least that's what he used to think; now, he thinks a bit differently ever since v&a as a whole started being given more creative opportunities. then, he saw his groupmates contributing to their music with lyrics and composition which made him want to contribute something too, which led him to learning the guitar.

now, as he sits down for the meeting with agito's manager, he wonders if there's more that can he offer to the group. haru is aware that many could argue him wanting to pursue acting benefits himself more than v&a (and agito) as whole but he did not want people to believe he prioritized the group less because it simply wasn't true; he loves agito and v&a, and he's even taken smaller roles in projects because he didn't want to miss out on any group schedules-- so if him contributing more to the group would help make people realize that, then he needs to work harder to do just that.

"i didn't know this was a question i could get right or wrong," haru replies, deadpan, before a smile finally cracks. "i can still be on your side and agree with the assessment that you look like slenderman, or a worm, or whatever off-shoot makes sense!" he laughs this time and can't stop for a few moments as he watches wooju's reaction. haru wonders if the other is intentionally being dramatic or if it's just become who he is so he doesn't even realize how silly he looks.

then again, haru doesn't think he has much room to talk.

as if to prove that, the words that come out of wooju's mouth next has haru pausing, falling silent as he listens and considers what to say. the switch up in topics catches him off guard but at least it's something he's thought about before.

"well... i can tell you i felt really useless when i first joined the company, and still did even when lgc boys started," he says first. in reality, he wasn't completely inexperienced with dancing or singing or performing on stage since he had done a lot of local theater and shows, even if as minor or ensemble roles. but when he started training, while it was a kind-of-familiar feeling, it felt more like an entirely new thing and he was promptly throw in to a fight. "even when i debuted in v&a, i wondered if i really deserved the spot and then i found out i'd be a main vocalist - so i think your feelings are normal."

it felt rare for himself to be so serious, and speak of things he usually kept to himself and didn't tell anyone but if he could somehow help another person, especially a friend like wooju is, by sharing his experience then he would gladly do it.

never in his life did haru think he would get to have actual real life experience to answer the classic question of "what would you bring with you if you were stranded a deserted island?" - yet here he is, sitting in another post-filming interview to talk about how his past two days have gone where he did just that.

"well, i'll say for sure that i think experiencing this once was enough for me," he begins by saying, a wry smile on his lips as he answers. "i thought it was fun, honestly! i'd never get a chance to try something like this were it not for this show... and now i know: i don't think i'm cut out for this life." haru finishes with a smile, one that manages to be both at-peace and resigned, somehow. he just doesn't think there's any better way to show his feelings towards the past few days otherwise, besides it being complicated.
