If you know what's good for you 'll listen to my warnings. Never go into the woods alone, you can never be too safe. I know because I made that mistake. It was a normal summer, I was sent to my grandparents house to stay while my parents were fighting over legal stuff. I tried to keep myself preoccupied, but honestly it was hard. I couldn't focus on normal tasks, everything seemed off. I told my grandma about it and all she said was that I was paranoid and should go for a walk, but what she said next worried me a little. “Don’t go into the woods alone.” was all she said. I wasn’t too worried about it, thinking that it was just because of the fact that the town they lived in wasn’t full of the nicest people. I'm walking down the street when I see that there is a public library, with nothing better to do I head inside to see if they have anything interesting to read. A kind old woman greets me, Ms. Porter was her name I think. I found out they have the twilight series so I grabbed book one and started reading. After what felt like only thirty minutes, Ms. Porter tapped my shoulder and told me it was closing time. Worried about how long I was there, I looked at the clock,”oh shit!” It had been nearly three hours since I got there. I thank Ms. Porter and head out. As I'm walking home I see a trail that leads into the woods, remembering my grandma’s warning, and not heading to her words, I head into the woods to see what the big deal was. I walk for what feels like forever, but nothing interesting happens. I start to head back when I come to have a weird feeling that something was behind me. I look around but nothing's there. I shrug it off and start down the trail. Not even five minutes later I feel that sensation again, but I also hear shuffling coming from behind me. I whip around again just in time to see a shadow duck behind a tree. I start running down the trail, and as I assumed whatever was following me before now sounds like it's running after me. I peer back frantically and what I see makes my stomach turn, it's some weird looking… deer? No it couldn’t be, it had the body of a human. Whatever it was, it had a hatchet, and I wasn't going to stick around to find out what it was going to do with it. Eventually i get away, i also manage to get home safely. I thought that that was the end so I tried to relax.
