Today’s treat is the Sailor Moon Eternal: Part 1 movie settei!

People are becoming really insensitive about this topic. Yes, I would love Sailor Moon Crystal Dream Arc movies to come out already. It’s my favorite season of them all and I would love to see the manga version fully animated.

However, at the same time, I can understand why it’s taking very long. I’ll put it short. Animation whether it be movies or a series usually takes a few years to make. An episode can take a month to several months to fully animate and write, especially if the animators and such are also doing other projects. A movie can take over a year to write story boards, animate and act in.

Now imagine that with horrible conditions such as rushed work hours that leave you little time to sleep, eat and do things a normal human being should do. Imagine doing all that while mentally stressed and exhausted. Animation studios in America treat their employees better compared to what goes on behind animation studios in Japan. Many people in general are overworked in Japan. It’s a common sight to see a work employee sleeping on a train or even on a bench somewhere. They’re exhausted as hell! Suicide rates in Japan are high because of this. 

I know this because I’ve done research. I have family members in Japan as I am Japanese on one side, I’ve had friends in Japan. Even Anime America themselves have covered this topic. So please before you complain “WHY AREN’T THEIR MOVIES COMING OUT YET!!!!!?!?!?” in your comfortable, cozy home, think about that please. Many people that work in those studios aren’t even paid enough to give a dang. They’re really aren’t.

Moral of this story is…

Be a human being first before being an otaku. Human beings made anime. They don’t just wave a magic wand and *poof* anime!

Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3 Finished airing in June 2016.

It was like 8 months of silence of not knowing was they going to even do Dream arc before we heard anything about them green lighting the Dream arc and making movies as part of the 25th anniversary instead of the 20th anniversary which was in March 2017.

Mind you that season 3 was green lighted before season 2 finished ( cause they was in preproduction of season 3)  it’s run and we officially knew season 3 was coming in October of 2015. We got out first visual in January which in April it premiered. 

In March 2018, it was officially announced that they was in production meaning that for a whole year ( from March 2017 to March 2018)that we though they was in production and making them they wasn’t. So a freaking year was wasted. 

Now it’s the begging of 2019 and not even a whisper of it even after it was speculated that supposed to come out either late 2018 or early 2019 which is still a possibly

So its’ almost 2 years since they announced they was doing movies and a year since they officially said they was in production.

In that amount of time, has any news surface saying “ Oh It’s still coming. We are still working it. Here’s something like a concept art or  official name to tied you over.”?

Nope.

Nothing.

Shit.

Not a damn thing. 

Just something about a character designer and that’s it.

For all we know it’s in production hell which this is on Toei. 

A lot of people are probably starting to forget and lose interest of Crystal because of the simple fact Toei has been neglectful of the series since the begging and has probably lost all the momentum that it had since June 2016.For a show that already had a delay before it supposed to have come out, having another long delay like this with no whispers of it coming can kill it. ( Cough which Toei is trying to do) Sailor Moon Crystal gain a lot of new fans to the Sailor Moon universe and it would be a damn shame to lose them because the Animation company doesn’t have time management or PR skills.. 

I know movies take a min to make but they geenlighted the new Dragon Ball movie like in December of 2017, which they had a teaser trailer for it in March 2018 right before the last episode of the show, which it was release December 2018 and now coming to America this month. 

So that’s a like a year between greentlighting and release and not almost freaking 3… 

So no this not about the animators at all. 

If they need the time to make sure they put out the best work they can with the shitty down right unethical conditions they have then should have it. 

If they are actually working on and not stuck in limbo because of Toei.. 

This is about Toei treating this series, their fans ,and the animators like shit . 

Matter of fact , it was a blogger on here who actually worked for Toei Philippians who was telling people how the conditions were during the run of the first two seasons… He give very insightful information and even said that Toei don’t give a shit about them.. 

This is about going radio silence for almost three years and not letting the fandom know anything. 

A simple “ Hey We are still working on it so it can be the best or here’s the title of it” would suffice .Just same kind of damn bone to tie of us over and get us excited again. I think we fans deserve that much. 

As least it would be poof that they are working it. 

Just knowing a character designer or it supposedly to be in production is not tangible.

So no. 

It’s not about otakus getting a prissy fit about not having the movies right now. 

It’s about not knowing if they are still coming and just want something to say “ Hey It’s coming . Hold on tight.”

It’s also about holding an Animation company who has a track record of treating an Intellectual property like shit for almost 27 years accountable.

That really the creator needs to take her baby always from them and give to more capable hands.. 

Sailor Moon is just as popular as Dragon Ball and it should be treated as much.
