Hey guys. Long time no update. Whoops.

I've been thinking about some things relating to the project. I want it to be more cohesive and have an actual plot.

To do this, I will need to (1) organize some things (2) partial overhaul (3) adjust the voting process.

I intend to create more of the mystery/ suspense genre as requested, as well as the newly added adventure and comedy, while tackling psychological/philosophical themes. Obviously I will keep as many things as possible that you voted on, but some things will have to change to match the desired aesthetic and cohesiveness of the project.

For now though, know that there will be some interesting and hopefully positive changes happening to Vehlur soon.

I will be setting the community up as well when I post the newer updates. Hopefully newer updates will be posted by the end of this year, but since I've been very busy recently, I am not sure how long it will take and cannot make any promises.

Anyway.

3 large islands, 1 medium size, 15 or 20 small islands. You guys tied again, so let's say 15 small islands, and 5 even smaller islands. 🫣😂

Finally learned how to do character turnaround in my character design class, so we'll be starting on character design sometime. I'm thinking I'll put a few iterations down, then you guys can choose which you like best for each of the main characters and antagonists. Then we can go forward with final adjustments.

I also want to start designing the environment as well... but I need to learn environmental design / how to draw outside and architecture hahaha

Haven't forgot about the tumblr community either. That's going to be set up hopefully right before I post the first chara design poll. I also need to put everything on this account into a Google docs or something to keep better track.

Based on the characters we have and the way the story is set up, I want to tell a heartfelt story about the bond between creator and creation, or perhaps the development of two best friends. Specifically we have Tailan and her robot, and how they go on adventure. The psychological aspect is primarily in world building and environmental setting (similar to "Children of the Whales" 12ep anime, where psychological aspects were part of how the navigated and operated within their world.)

While the relationship development between Tailan and her friend could be the focus, I think the story could also have a tinge of regret or dark notes to supplement mystery genre and psychological as well (but ofc it would still retain comedy in certain places).

I like shows like "ArtisWitch" mini series, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" (1st season only), "Fairy Ranmaru" (Disliked the romance/ecchi/yaoi jumpscare though), "Children of the Whales", "Irodzuku Sekai My World In Color" for chara dev, its an obscure anime, "Gargantia on the verduous planet" for environmental dev, and lots of Studio Ghibli for architectural design.

The solar punk genre is very nice as well. I feel this fits perfectly with the idea. You guys are cooking straight 🔥🔥 rn honestly.

Based on the aesthetic we have going on so far, that's what I'm thinking about 🤔

Was looking back thru the posts and realized you guys wanted to vote on world events (things that happen to the characters), not necessarily what characters do.

For example, a rainstorm would be a world event. And then how the characters react to that would be what the characters do.

Why I didn’t think of this sooner is beyond me.
