gotham gave up on trying to make oswald a “monster” for season 5 after literally one episode and then immediately doubled down on how love and validation is his strongest motivators, how he’s actually self aware and remorseful to a degree that he hurts the people who care about him, how he’s totally down to put his life on the line for gotham and it’s inhabitants (ed was content to watch em all burn btw), and how even after all the shit ed put him through he still risked his own ass by shielding him from that grenade blast and he nearly lost an eye for that like I trust his fucking morals way more than any of the donut-fuckers at the gcpd at least oswald has some emotional depth and sentimentality

it had plot holes it had queerbaiting it had an excessive amount of unnecessary straight drama but there goes the show that I actually enjoyed watching
