When youβre just a bi girl trying to keep your shit together in a heteronormative world.
For all the bi girls just trying to keep it together out there. πππ
Thank you to all the LGBTQ activists and community who fought so hard to make this so much easier to say today than it was 5, 10, 50 years ago. But weβre still fighting, and today is as good a day as any to remember that. When heterosexuality is the norm, we have to come out in every conversation, every new job, every new town. As bisexuals, we have to convince you weβre gay enough to be here. We have to decide whether to mention it to straight friends, whether to defend our humanity to homophobic family, whether to share that article celebrating monumental news. We have to constantly decide whether weβre better off ignoring or hiding who we are β weβre not. And no one should have to make that decision.
gay culture is trying to telepathically communicate to visibly gay people you see in public that youβre one of them
Bi culture is trying to telepathically ask not-visibly-gay-but-said-that-one-thing-that-could-mean-theyβre-bi people, βHow much would you freak out if I asked you out rn?β
I have a few questions for people in polyamorous relationshipsβ¦
Is being with one person not enough? Why do you need to be with multiple people? Is it a need or a desire?
Iβm not trying to start a fight or anything, just genuinely curious. I cannot wrap my head around wanting to be with more than one person. Iβm sure itβs just not for me but Iβd like to understand.
Like would it make y'all absolutely miserable to just be with one person?
I can only speak for myself (other polyamorous people may feel differently), but for me, it isnβt about needing to be with multiple people β itβs more about needing to have the freedom to do so if I wish to. It doesnβt make sense to me to limit the kinds of interactions I can have with one person just because Iβm in a certain type of relationship with another person. There are just way too many awesome people in the world, and life is so short. I want for every relationship Iβm in to have the opportunity to find its own best-fitting format.
Would it make me miserable to be with just one person? No. It would only make me miserable if I knew that I didnβt even have the option to be with anyone else. I did fine in monogamous relationships back when I was younger and didnβt think theyβd last the rest of my life. When I started talking long-term with my last couple of monogamous partners, thatβs when I started really realizing that Iβd feel stifled and very sad if I agreed to be monogamous to one person forever. It wouldnβt even matter how great that person was or how awesome the relationship was. Monogamy itself just isnβt for me, as a concept.
tl;dr Freedom is the more critical element, to me, than always having multiple partners. Donβt get me wrong, though, having multiple partners is great, too. :)
The idea of never having another love story makes me sad. I like getting to know people.
I love all of this, and the whole thread is π
I agree: I want to be able to keep falling in love. And I want the freedom to explore relationships as they come into my life β not for the sex, but for the opportunity to get to know someone and see who I can be with them. I have a primary partner, because we both like the comfort and stability of having someone to build a life with. That life just happens to include the opportunity to fall in love with new people.

I was obsessed with brushing girlsβ hair as a child.
Reason 978 I should have known I was gay.
If anyone missed itβ¦
Iβm really gay, holy crap.
favorite bisexuality-focused resources & communities?
Hi folks, weβre putting together some resources specifically for our bisexual/pansexual/queer users and would love some community input: do any of yβall have favorite resources, social spaces, or other destinations of note online that are centered on bisexuals or bisexuality? This could be helpful videos/channels on youtube, the tumblrs with the best bisexual content, places to find community - anything you find fun, informative, or helpful.
Thanks a lot!Β πππ

Me: I just found out my ex-girlfriend's cancer is terminal, and it's hitting me harder than I expected.
Someone: WAIT YOU'RE GAY BUT YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND.
Me: So... cancer.
When all the other adults seem to know something you donβt.

I don't like to talk about my feelings because all my feelings are "I'm gay af."

Me: idk if I'm bi or pan or poly or gay or what.
Bisexuals: it's OK honey, labels don't matter, you're valid no matter who you are.
Also bisexuals: DOWN WITH STRAIGHT CIS WHITE MEN.
How do girls have sex?
How do they stop is the real question
