Not a first since they meet but a first since they had started dating. “Not who, what.” He said vaguely as he unstrapped his gloves. “Of course.” Moving to sit down on the nearby bench, “Mind if I ask where you’ve been, have you been avoiding me or.” He trailed off waiting for her response

“Long time no see,” Amaya greeted her fellow totem wielder with a small grin. She hadn’t even bothered to try and sneak up on him; both were quick, and that could have resulted in a more violent reunion between friends. Leo had decided to do his own thing for now, but he’d always made a good partner on their team when he had been traveling through time with them. “Taking out some frustration on that poor punching bag?” she teased as she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned up against the corner of the wall.

“How have you been?”

Offering the women a small in return, “Right back at you, Jiwe.” Never had he thought he & Amaya Jiwe would be allies, heck, friends even. Granted this wasn’t his earth’s version, son there was that. During his time with the Legends, he had related with the women heavily, both totem wielder, both from teams with much more structure compared to there band of misfits. “Just thinking.” Gesturing the the punching bag, “Good as can be expected, we did just come from the future, our future.”

on heavy insistence from one of her friends, rory agreed to attend one of those spinning classes. it wasn’t as bad as she’d thought, but she had to cop out thirty minutes in when she felt her leg begin to cramp painfully. she limped into the open floor, so early in the day that it was hardly inhabited – everyone was off showing off their summer bodies somewhere with a beach, not in a gym. it was, in a way, more private than a locker room.

but she did notice someone punching away into a leather bag, who paused when he saw her. “oh, sorry, i didn’t mean to disturb you.” rory held a hand out in apology as she reached for one of the mats to roll out onto the ground and plop down onto it, stretching her legs ahead of her with a flinch as she tried to work out the muscle spasm.

“It’s cool, public property after all.” Leo paused as he got a better look at the women who walked in, “Conduit.” He muttered under his breath before realizing that this was her Earth-1 counterpart, not the version he had known. “Um, coming from the spin class?” He questioned slightly amused by the display, the women having obviously overworked herself. Walking over, he moved to help her work out her muscle spasm.

With repeated motions, Leo slammed his fists fiercely into a punching bag. He trained alone as the collisions of his punches echoed in the empty room. His booming music playing from the device strapped to his arm only somewhat dampening it.

Even though he was somewhat of a social trainer, today he didn’t mind being alone, it meant his mind could wander. It couldn’t help but go to the future they had come from, what it all meant, if that’s what was coming one way or another. He was so invested in own thoughts and his training he almsot didn’t hear anyone walk into the room, seeing them our of the corner of his eye, he turned his music off.

“General Irvin McDowell has decided to make an appearance at a recruitment office in 1942. He should probably go back where he belongs.” Leo explained, tapping his screen to bring up more information on the General. “Hmm, Civil War to World War Two, less than a century, but still far enough in the future to blow his mind.”

“What do you say?”

Leo smiled, anything could better then sitting around the office all day. “Well, how could I refuse. Don’t need the civil war falling apart while Rip is...where ever he is.” Having noticed there director had been acting a bit strangely since they had been back.

Leo rolled his eyes and tossed the tablet containing the report he had been writing onto the desk in front of him. He was bored already and they’d barely been back in the office 12 hours. He didn’t mind coming home from the future, welcomed being in his own time and place, he’d even ensured that he’d only been gone for the usual working day as far as Ray was concerned. But being stuck at the bureau documenting every tiny detail of what he’d seen and done in 2040 was tedious to say the least.

Retrieving the tablet, he flicked it to the anachronism tracker and idly flicked through the readings. Hmm. A level 4 in 1942, San Francisco. Looked interesting enough.

“Leo,” he called out to his partner, “have you ever been to San Francisco?”

Leo chuckled at his teammates frustrations, his training had given him an upperhand when it came to there day to day responsibilities such as writing reports, having finished his own an hour ago.

Raising his eyebrow “Once but never on this earth.” He noted, “What’s the case?” He asked.

Leo shrugged, “Our plans go up in flames almost everytime anyway.” His eyebrows raised at the girl comments, now intrigued by her presence. “So I know you or…I will know you.” He surmised, “Why not, are we close?” He questioned, maybe it was dangerous but seeing how the future was shaping up he couldn’t help but want reassurance. “You have to tell me something, I don’t wanna go back to my timeline thinking, this is all there is.”

“I remember. Why even plan it when you’re always going to deviate.” She bowed her head. Leo had been a father figure to her after she lost her parents. Alena and Leo were the kindest people to such a broken teenager. “Isn’t talking about the future kind of asking to open a wormhole in time? “You loved Alena enough to take on a burden of a kid. That’s all I can tell you.”

Leo shrugged, “Force of habit, I guess.” He noted, studying the girl. He was mildly taken aback by her few words. The women in front of him was...his daughter, his & Alena’s, moving closer he truly took her. She honestly didn’t look much like either of them but he supposed he shouldn’t think to hard into it. Smiling at the girl, he pulled her into a hug. Even though the future was dark, there was still some light left in it and that’s all he needed to know. “Thank you, I don’t need to know anymore.” Regardless on if he had survived or not he know he had left an impact of the world.

Walking back to her shop Zatanna held onto her hot tea as she thought about how odd of a summer it was. The weather reminded her of early fall but it was early June. Zatanna would worry more if it was late July and it felt this cold. Sighing softly she began fishing her keys out of her pocket as she stopped next to someone on the sidewalk. “Interesting weather we are having don’t you think?”

Leo couldn’t be more thankful to be back in his own time but there was still one more problem that needed solving, getting back to his own world. He had tried the usual scientific method and for some reason none of them worked so he needed to think outside the box.

Noticing the person of interest walk up he smiled, “Definitely but in the scale of Central City weirdness this is pretty tame.” He noted, “Your the owner of the place, Zatanna, John’s told me about you.”

Leo rolled his eyes, couldn’t a mission ever go smoothly. “Alright, you caught me, I’m Agent Leo Rivera from the Time Bureau 2019 & I’m here to stop my friend from hurting the timeline, that’s it.” He said, showing the girl his badge, “So who the hell are you, nobody ever identified me that easily before?” He questioned.

“A time traveler! I didn’t think you’d actually say it out loud.” Chloe muttered in disbelief. 2019 must have been a neutral time for a secret agent to so easily blow their own cover. His badge was even shiner now than it was when she first saw it. “You’re a lot less gray now, Leo. This isn’t the first time we’ve met. I’m Chloe Whitlock and we can’t met in your timeline yet.”

He knew he couldn’t be too far from the waverider, but with his time courier malfunctioning he was stuck just searching for it. “Man, and I thought gotham was a dump.” he said looking around.

The totem wielder playfully rolled his eyes, “Whatever John, have fun shagging your way though space and time, live the best life for more.”

John did say that to all the guys. There was no denying it. But also it didn’t make what he said any less true.

“Careful. I might just cast a spell so it doesn’t.” He teased a little, having no intention to ruin anything between Leo and his lady for personal gain. In John’s opinion, Leo was probably better off staying clear of him. But that was for a whole different reason.

The magician grinned, liking the sound of Leo’s suggestion. He wasn’t going to mention that he had his own plans to leave the Legends, therefore no more space and time travel. “Oh, I shall.”
