Her mother’s words rang insistently in her head as Arianna rounded another corner in effort to lose the drone flying closely behind her. She could easily destroy the little nuisance but that would only paint larger targets on her current makeshift family in a world that sought to hunt down supers. “Move!” she commanded a couple as she ran down the sidewalk, trying to shake her potentially dangerous tail.
“I told you I wanted your evidence and sources by today and I see nothing,” Iris thanked the barista quietly as she was handed the coffee cup, “Yes, I checked everything and have yet to see anything on the story you pitched. I am not an idiot, now get me everything I asked for or you are not writing the story. End of discussion.” Iris sighed as she hung up her phone frustrated at how incompetent some of her writers were. She set down her bag and cup trying to enjoy the little peace and quiet she had before going back to her normal life. Sitting there watching the television, she couldn’t help but fiddle with the rings that still sat on her finger even after all these years. All of these anti-meta human news stories made her anxious for her kids.
“Could you leave him that message for me? Uh, yeah. Murtaugh. Thanks.” Matt took a step back, taking a quick look around the lobby of the ARGUS building before moving outside. He just needed to deliver his dad his work schedule so they could plan more training sessions, but unfortunately his dad was too busy. He moved quickly out of the building, a skip in his step as he realized he had some free time. He didn’t see the girl until he was almost running into her, though he quickly dodged to avoid the unnecessary contact. “Sorry. Sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going. Sorry.”

“I can’t believe I’m the one assigned to this story,” Natira muttered under her breath, her pencil almost browning as the flames threatened to sprout from her fingertips. She took a moment to calm herself before offering a half-assed smile at the poor soul who was unfortunate enough to be standing closest to her. “Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions? CCPN wants to get real people’s thoughts on the shitshow that’s happening on our streets today-- Sorry, I believe their words were, ‘Please dear god get some unbiased quotes so we can actually publish your story without getting the entire crew locked up in an ARGUS prison.’ Yeah, something like that.”
Cisco stood in the lobby of his laboratory and looked at the person standing in front of him. “They said they needed access boss, your call,” security said glancing at Cisco. “Um, yeah they can come with me.” He waved at security before looking back at the person. “What are you doing here?” he asked in a low voice so not many people could hear.
It had been six months near enough since his Dad had been taken. An event that sent his Step-Moose into a vengeful spiral and he and his twin to live with Uncle Sydney. At least that's what the world thought. Surprisingly their Uncle had allowed them back to Central City, so they could use their Father's contacts and hopefully trace his whereabouts. So far with little success. Theo was in the middle of running over the video captured by the Twins' suits on their recent recon mission, when a commotion outside the door interrupted. It didn't sound like a fight, or a raid, but it was noisy enough to break his concentration. Getting to his feet and mumbling some phrases his Eagle Scout dad would be mortified to hear, Theo stomped over to the door and yanked it open.
"Some of us are trying to sleep!" He was really good at lying now, a lot had changed in six months. "Can you please shut up?!"
