Oh yeah. It's that time of year.

We got a whole list of shit that needs to get done.

First things first: Doing something that's not even on the list of stuff to do.

Remember the Hurt Styck? That needs an update. The morning star attachment was peak, but I hated the staff. The connections took too much effort and time to screw together, and the staff itself just looked like somebody just wrapped a cardboard tube in newspaper and painted it brown (cuz that's what it was, pretty much).

So I'm remaking it.

I also wanted to make the bottom attachment look more like a handle for when it's in one-handed mode.

I reused the bottom bit I used on the original staff and then I made the grip with backer-rod bescause I liked how it looked on the practice ax.

The new connections are made with wooden paint roller extensions. They're basicically just cheap wood dowels that screw into a plastic bit. They don't take much to screw together and they feel a lot more solid than the last staff.

Then I had to make a new connection for the morning star attachment.

Ripping the top off was a lot easier than I expected.

Unlike making the connection.

I made one version that didn't look good. Then I tried to make it look good but failed. Then it just bugger it and threw the whole thing away and made a new one.

After testing it out (by running around the yard and swinging around like a crackhead berserker), the whole thing felt solid.

Some of the spikes got bent, so I removed them and made replacement ones.

Okay, so here's a few more.

This was a cultist I was gonna use for a TTRPG I never finish out of fear of offending everyone (long story).

They're casting a spell call Wiggly Digits which basically just makes your fingies really long and tentically.

Another piece for another unfinished TTRPG.

I tend to make a lot of those.

This was gonna be a Wrath Giant for my Third Hemisphere setting (I'm not gonna finish the game, but i kinda want to use the world for something else. I just don't know for what, yet).

Also a Mauler makes an apperence! Remember that one thing I made like 3-4 years ago?

Honestly, this was a bad idea.

Not because I regret destroying my art. No.

It's because I wanna find more of my art and burn it.

Anyway. Now it's all ashes. Maybe some of those ashes carry insiration particles and will go with the wind to find a new mind to inspire.

I literally made this in like 20 minutes. Not suprising by the way it looks. Its not the worst I guess.

Some pieces I was gonna use for a TROIKA! backgrounds book. Never finished. Maybe I'll make one someday, but I'll just use digital.

The left one was gonna be called a Wheelbearer, and their whole think was having a wheel on there head that decided their mood (or mein). The second one i think was called the Crimson Guard or something like that. They were basically Mandolorians (real original), but I got the inspiration from that one Wishbone Ash album cover.

I only made these for the sole purpose of adding more stuff to my art wall.

Painted this around the same time I did that At The Mountains of Madness painting. It's supposed to be sleeping Azathoth, but I think I made it too abstract (even for cosmic horror).

I paint a lot of obelisks, apparently.

Theres a lot of flaws, but I actually kinda like these.

Fun Fact: The first one was my first real painting. Not like, an art project for school. I painted this one for me.

Alright, these ones get to stay.

When I dice up some garlic and I smell my fingers, I reminded that I can be seasoned.

When I burn my hand on the stove, I'm reminded that I can be cooked.

When I accidentally marinade my hand, vacuum seal it in a bag, and then slip on a conveniently placed grease patch and drop my sealed hand into a heat controlled water bath, I'm reminded that I too can be sous vide like a delectable New York strip.

It's all this healthy organic stuff that supposed to make you feel good and be a "skinny legend" or whatever.

A lot of these juices have "increases nervous system" listed as a benefit.

But like... no...

Why would I want that?

My system is already nervous enough.

Phelediran Merchants

High up in the Ryguant mountains lies a small enclave of Pheldrians, commonly known as "pheasant-folk", who live in humble, but strangely enough, and wealthy lives. Their work is simple, but provides them with plenty of coin.

Their main export, you may ask? Bug legs. (However, they would perfer the term "Hexapod Derived Accessories").

These Pheledirans raise various species of giant insects to use their parts to create jewelry. Some of these pieces include anything from capes wove from wings cuticles, earrings and pendents made from molded carapace, or there most popular item, hat plumes made from antennas and legs.

Now, you may be thinking to yourself, "why not use feathers plumes?". This is because of two reasons. One: insect carapaces catch light better, thus much or iredecent. And two: the idea of a species of birds selling parts of themselves (or even worse, other birds) is what as most anthropologists and other experts would label as "pretty messed up".

I had some pheasants on hand, so naturally, I had to make fancy pheasants (as any normal person would).

I've been meaning to post this, but between the flood and my hatred of painting... yeah... Anyway, I have more Grand Parade stuff I'm almost done with.

Room

Before I had to evacuate town due to the Peter Gabriel induced flood I accidently caused, I brought some old art and WIPs upstairs so they wouldn't get ruined. After going through all of it, I realized that most of it...

... wasn't on par with my current artistic endeavors?

(Or bad. I would say bad.)

BUT I did find this piece that I forgot I did that I still like. I made it to reflect a sort of contentment within my room.

But now, something about it has changed.

After living elsewhere for a bit, I dunno if I can relate to the original idea.

Is he content in that room or trapped there? I don't see a door. Just walls.

Fast forward to today, I wake up to flood warnings, talks of evacuating the whole town, and then said whole town getting together to make sand bags to stop the rest of the town from also being flooded.

Axe

(That's it. That's what it is)

So I'm gonna remake the pole for my collapsible, multipurpose Hurt Styk for my renn-faire costume because I'm not happy with how it turned out (the hurtin' end is fine though, that'll stay).

I thought of a new method that I wanted to try, so I decided to make a lil something to test it before I get get too ahead of myself and find out it doesn't work.

Luckily, it does!

But I'm not gonna tell you what I did.

For now...

I have something planned.

Then I had a nice looking handle without a hurtin' bit, so i made it into an axe just to experiment. I'm gonna make a halberd attachment, so I got some practice in for making foam axe heads. Also, the handle is made of foam dowels.

I have no use for it, so I'm giving it to somebody for the low low price of absolutely no money whatsoever.

BUT

They gotta paint it. That was the only condition.

Head Splitter Jr.

I know I told myself that I was gonna hold off on making more prop guns, but cmon... I had to.

I found another nerf gun at a goodwill that looked like a shot gun with one of those weird grips on it (I dunno what it's called).

I had it my head that this gun would be a sidearm for my "Post Apocolyptic Ned Kelly" character that I made the helmet and gun for about a year ago. Is it practical to have another shotgun as a sidearm? No. Is it cool? Hell yeah it is.

Rule of cool always wins.

I was originally gonna put a spike under the barrel instead of an axe, but then a coworker said the axe would be cooler. I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda hesitant at first since it would basically be a smaller version of my other axe shotgun.

"If I do the axe thing again, then I would just have a smaller version of The Head Splitter. Then it's just Head Splitter Junior..."

"Wait. Fuck. That's so stupid it's funny..."

So I did that.

Stego-Borg

This one has been sitting on the pile of shame for a while, and I don't feel like working on it again, so here it is. It's mostly done. I could do touch-ups, but I don't wanna. I'm gonna go work on other stuff and let this one be.

Anyway.

Inspired by my Raptor-Borg from way back when. A lot of people liked it so I thought I do a whole series of these dino cyborgs things.

Yeah, that didn't happen.

All good. I realized that maybe it would be "creatively healthier" if I made things that came naturally or creatively drive me to making them instead of making things I think people would like.

Anyway, it's a stegosaurus with final faction bits glued to it. Pretty straightforward.
