am i the only one one who thinks that the concept of noelle in the weird route being so deluded by the player that she genuinely believes she can be immortal if kris tells her to is much more interesting than her "breaking the game" or "escaping the boundaries"?? /gen q

like i could be completely wrong but i thought the whole point of that scene was to show what the player's manipulation combined with her desire to change herself has done to her

when i initially saw the scene, i was much more focused on what was happening in the moment without trying to incorporate meta awareness and the game world into it, and i feel like that made it a lot more impactful and chilling to experience

whenever i try and look online to see other people's thoughts on the route, very few people are focused on noelle, and more are focused on the "lore implications" and breaking out of the system, connecting it back to gaster and the survey program. while i do think that's interesting it it's own way, i felt like it kind of took away from the importance of the scene itself by making it about "the game" and less about what the characters were going through

for example: if you die to lava in your first run, in your second run your character absolutely refuses to do anything related to lava
