(...) “It’s nothing too major. We think we can actually start it back up without problem so hold on, it’s going to move in a little bit.” The man says, to Seongs surprise. He glances over at the other male. How the hell was he going to explain that?! “O-Okay!” He shouts back to the doors before he sets out on a few terrible miming attempts, only for the elevator to begin moving again quicker than he thought and shake alive. Oh no, he was losing his balance, quickly trying to reach for whatever was closest by. Too bad his hands therefore… Found the other his arm and jacket to grab onto. 

it’s quite interesting to see that the entire explanation is relayed to him with a simple smile and a thumbs up, as if the other male isn’t particularly sure how to relay the details through miming, which is a very fair thing, really. he doesn’t think he would be able to do it himself either. the other guy is also starting to look a little bit tired around the edges and so sveinn decides not to bother him too much and to just wait. they’re eventually told that the elevator will start up again and it’s because he sees the young man turn to him with a slightly confused expression that he knows he’s going to try and explain it. before he can, however, the elevator actually rumbles back into motion, the sudden movement feeling almost like his stomach drops down and his companion stumbles because of the sudden movement.

he’s always solid as a deep rooted tree, of course, even in a suddenly moving elevator, and so he doesn’t even budge from his spot, seeming not in the slightest surprised by the movements. the other male’s hands reach for something to hold on to as his body gives in to gravity, hands reaching towards him, and so he reaches out his own arm as well, gives the man something to hold on to and does even more than that. he steps in closer, puts his other arm around him as well and keeps the young man on his feet, allowing him to temporarily rest against his chest in order to not hurt himself on any part of the elevator.

(...) Then he smiles, another whisper-brush of lips on neck.

“But like, maybe take me with you sometimes.”

Then, as if the last several months had never happened, Dio places a playful little kiss under Sveinn’s ear, right where the drum of his pulse hammers hardest.

the silence stretches out endlessly, sveinn’s entire life caught in the balance between not knowing and whatever will come out of dionysus’ mouth next. rather than give a simple answer - it wouldn’t be dionysus if he did, probably - he’s given a little speech, the echo of lips brushing against his neck along with it, and he wonders if he will expand to fill the meaning of these words or if he will shrink under their weight in the future. he can’t say for certain yet now, all of this too new, taking too much of his ability to process, to focus on anything but the man so comfortably wrapped up in his arms even now.

he swallows hard and then closes his eyes for a moment, just letting the entirety of all of this sink in. and perhaps this is the first time he is so vulnerable around dionysus, maybe even just the first time in general, but he feels safe enough within the circle of dio’s arms, even if he can almost hear the god smile. he feels safe enough in the knowledge that if he is still loved after what has transpired between them now, he will still be loved no matter what happens next.

and so when dionysus’ lips find that spot behind his ear, pressing warmth against his skin, whatever tension he’d held inside of him breaks and like a tree shaking out its crown in the breeze, his body trembles before it settles in a more relaxed stance, his hands curling into the fabric of the god’s clothes a little more, his breath evening out.

“i usually don’t know i’m leaving until i’m already gone,” he says softly then, turning his head, tilting it away from dionysus just enough so he can nuzzle behind the god’s ear in his turn. he lowers his face into the crook of dio’s neck right after, and momentarily tightens his hold on the god’s frame, almost as if he’s attempting to tangle the god up with tendrils of stick and leave that he does not actually possess. “but i’ll let you know where i end up so you can join me there if you want.”

it’s the best he can do, probably, but he has an inkling now that it might just be enough for the one he’s holding on to. and with those simple words and that realisation, the vulnerable moment passes. he lifts his head from where it’d been hidden, straightening up properly again so dionysus can hide into him once more should he want to. it’s with his usual demeanour returned that he says the words he knows he hasn’t spoken often before in his life but that he thinks dionysus of all people deserves the most.

(...) As he looked at it though and how accurate it seemed to the moment just now he suddenly heard a loud thump and he instantly jumped, almost shouting. 

“Hello? This is the elevator maintenance service, are you okay? How many people are in there?”

luckily the other guy takes the drawing without too much complaints, and then voices out an english thank you. he gives a nod of his head, easily replying with the icelandic words for you’re welcome and then starts to pack up his things to put them back in his bag. it’s right as he closes his drawing pad that there’s a loud thump and for a moment he wonders what on earth he’s done to make that much noise, but then the voice sounds up from outside the doors, rather muffled by the heavy metal but still audible at least.

his gaze goes from the doors back over to his companion since they are speaking korean - probably because that’s the language chosen earlier with the emergency button. letting his companion answer the questions, he tucks his things back into his bag, carefully wrapping the pencil up to keep it from breaking. after confirming there’s two of them, their rescuers ask if they’re both well and luckily they still have enough oxygen so he hopes the other man will tell them they’re fine. they won’t be fine forever, of course, but since the maintenance service has arrived he presumes it won’t be too much longer now before they’re freed. unless, of course, prying open the elevator doors doesn’t work out for some reason.

he sure hopes that does not happen.

(...) He paused to consider the question, although it did not take him long to reach the obvious conclusion. “Dr. Feelgoods is pretty good. Have you been?” He, admittedly, hadn’t been to Dr. Feelgoods much since he briefly bartended there back in his first days in the city, but he still liked it well enough. With Taemin, however, he did tend to visit more elite, expensive places. It would be sort of nice to visit somewhere he felt more at home, he thought.

he feels his phone buzz in his pocket with a text received, automatically assuming it’s the one yoongi just sent him so he doesn’t reach for it to check. rather he focuses his attention on the other male and when he’s teased about his own bedtime, he actually breathes out a little grin, shrugging his shoulders lightly. “some days ten is when i go to bed,” he agrees. “though it’s usually ten in the morning when i do.” he chuckles easily and shakes his head lightly.

as yoongi suggest dr. feelgood’s as a place to meet, his expression softens automatically for no other reason that he’s very familiar with the place if only because his boyfriend owns the place and it’s coincidentally also where they met. it might have been quite some time ago by now but he definitely remembers it in stark detail.

It was strange to hear his escort name outside of Babylon but of course it would only be Sveinn that calls him by that name. Even still he does his best to keep his emotions in check and turns to listen to what the other has to say, keeping his phone to his side. When he hears the older explain himself the escorts eyes suddenly open wide. “Whoa wait a second-” he huffs out a small laugh a little caught off guard with the sudden talk of cash when the last he remembered was the time he was bought for back then was mainly for reference..? “You made paintings of me? I thought it was just for practice? Reference? You actually painted me?”

Maybe he’s lost part of his memory too or it’s just really been that long ago. Sveinn did disappear suddenly, he didn’t see the older around the island anymore and yet here he was back again. “Um, well..I don’t know how I’d feel about keeping a painting of myself in my place..”

ryo seems extremely surprised by the existence of paintings of him, which he’s not very sure why because he made ample sketches and a few pictures to get the lighting right - and what else did ryo think he was using those for? still, he’s the last person to be self-righteous about his art and so he just gives the younger man a moment to process.

luckily the surprise doesn’t make way for anger and a moment later ryo comments on the strangeness of keeping a painting of himself in his own apartment. it makes him breathe out a smile, and just as it always does when he’s talking about art, it softens his entire demeanour and makes him a lot more gentle looking than he usually is.

“you don’t have to if you don’t want to,” he says easily, giving a shrug of his shoulders. he goes from the notes app to his gallery app then, opening the folder with pictures of his creation. at this point he has to scroll quite a way down to get to the pictures of the paintings he made of ryo but he finds them easily. turning the thumbnails a little larger, he then holds his phone out for ryo to see.

(...) He groaned softly, burying his face in Sveinn’s shoulder. The entire thing was making his head hurt. “It’s probably nothing. It’s not like anyone would ever hurt me,” he murmured, more to reassure himself than to convince the other male that it was true. After all, there were bad people out there. But he didn’t know any of them… right?

in another situation he might perhaps have pressed the issue, continued to needle the person with him and make them figure out what was wrong. but that requires a solid amount of confidence and inner strength to pull off, of course, and though he doesn’t necessarily think of felix as weak, it’s clear that the boy’s suffering enough already with the fear and the nightmares, so he doesn’t think it’s an all too great idea right now to push him on the matter.

so when felix buries his face against his shoulder, he simply moves his hand to the back of felix’s head to assure him he’s more than welcome to stay right there and calmly shifts them around a little so that he can simply pick the boy up from where he’s curled up on the couch, one arm looped under his legs, the other one resting against his back, hand moving to his upper arm so he can keep him steady.

(...) As he does Moon spots it. The other man, now drawing and did he… Glance at him? He suddenly felt suspicious but it wasn’t like he could just lean over and make him part of his broadcast or try to snoop. Besides! He didn’t want to. He was handsome and his followers needed to praise him, not his thick blockhead. His expression is briefly changed before he looks at the camera on his phone again. “I’m gonna go, i’ll try to do another live later! I think I should spare the battery on my phone just in case, i’ll keep you guys updated how it goes on my story! Byeeeee~” He waves with a goofy grin and then smirks as he makes a finger heart before with one last bye he ends the broadcast and mumbles to himself. “Aren’t they here yet…?” His eyes dart to the buttons and the door, before from the corner of his eyes he glances back at the sketchpad. His curiosity betrayed him, and his suspicion. 

he’s just filling in the last remaining details of his sketch when the young man seems to end this little talking to his phone screen thing he had going on. sveinn has paid barely any attention to the words that came out of the man’s mouth and he’s more than happy with not knowing whatever has been said anyway. when he glances up again as the young man moves, he sees him tuck his phone away, gaze going up to the doors of the elevator as he wonders out loud whether they’re not here yet. he looks back down to continue his sketching, detailing the shadows on the smiling face now clearly sketched on the paper.

he presumes the celtic demigod might think he was drawing a caricature or something else rather insulting, but the reality is a very lifelike drawing, including the light from the phone screen highlighting the young man’s face and the bright smile that seemed to have been for the people he’d been talking to only, because now that the young man is looking in his direction again, the expression has gone back to something a lot more like a frown.

dionysusxmp​:

(...) “Coulda just sent me like, one text. For someone so smart you’re so dumb sometimes.” After so long without having done so, Dionysus nuzzles into Sveinn’s neck and breaths the familiar scent deeply. “I don’t want anyone else to break my heart. Just you.” 

Then he laughs, because even if it’s true, it’s still pretty cheesy.

dionysus groans and all sveinn can do is lower his gaze a little more towards the ground, because he accepts the full width of the annoyance and anger the sound expresses, knows the guilty party is him here and there are no excuses. so he doesn’t even pretend to make any, just accepts the blame and when dionysus straightens he looks up to meet those purple, swirling eyes. even when the hand comes up as if to shove him, he doesn’t flinch nor does he move, but rather than being hurt he is touched so softly, so tenderly, that he can’t do anything but lean into the touch ever so slightly.

he is scolded then, somewhat playfully but also very seriously, and told to text, to let dionysus know he’s going. but mainly he is told that there is someone willing to wait for him to return, and that more than anything makes him freeze in place for a moment, his dark eyes locked with those of the god, his hands still resting in dionysus’ sides.

before he can full and well process the full width of those words, dionysus throws himself at him. he stands solid as always, unwavering like a tree rooted deep into the ground, but he does bend a little, just to make sure the impact won’t hurt the god who is so beloved to him. it takes a moment or two before he remembers to bring up a hand and run it over dio’s back all over again, but then he feels the god nuzzle into the crook of his neck, and he hears those words spoken to him so easily, with such conviction.

he has no words. even when dionysus laughs, he stays mute, for it just seems too simple; too easy to be true. he’s still stuck on the part where dio said he would wait and he doesn’t tend to believe this, but here they are, and dionysus is hiding in his arms like he’s never wanted to be anywhere else; and isn’t that all the proof he needs?

he clears his throat lightly after another full minute of silence. for the first time in a long time, he’s almost flustered, and it’s a stark difference to the usually so stoic and unbothered version of himself. the reason for it is voiced soon enough, when in the softest half-whisper he says: “you’d wait for me? every time?”

(...) But if something had happened, it must have been recent. Even with his spotty memory, he knew that this was relatively new behaviour for him. “I… I don’t think anything happened to me. And I don’t think that’s the type of thing I’d forget…” After all, his powers usually took less important, more recent memories first. Appointment times, what he ate for breakfast or did earlier in the day, TV show plotlines, little bits of trivia, website passwords. Something that had traumatized him seemed like it would have stuck in his brain better.

he just continues to gently run fingers through felix’s hair and over his back while the young man considers his words carefully, a hand going up to his throat almost absentmindedly. he wonders if someone once tried to kill him, if the young man has a bad past or if someone just decided he was the best target for violence. he wonders if felix seemed defenceless and someone thought to take advantage of it.

then felix’s expression shifts to shock and it’s clear he’s trying and failing to imagine anything so bad having happened to him. he wonders if the boy repressed the memory, or if it’s something else going on. he’s not a therapist, far from, so he can’t really make any comments on it, or notice what signs are bad and which ones are normal for this kind of event, but he thinks he should maybe still mention something.

“sometimes when the things that happen to us are really, really bad, we repress the memory of them in order to be able to live on,” he says softly. “i’m not saying this is what happened to you, but it might not be a bad idea to try and figure it out.” he recalls when his father had asked him if he wanted to go to therapy, because clearly he wasn’t feeling right. he’d appreciated it at the time. the therapist however had not been able to help him at all. no matter what he did, that restless feeling had remained.

Just as Ryo was walking off, phone in hand scrolling through a SNS when he hears his escort name. The younger freezes right then turning around seeing that Sveinn had suddenly ended his call walking quickly to catch up with him. For what he’s definitely not sure. The Japanese demigod shows his confused expression lightly before he’s opening hsi mouth again. “I am off the clock, Sveinn-san. Please use my given name..Ryo.” he reminds the older while he puts away his phone. 

Ryo waits for a moment waiting on Sveinn to explain himself. The older already looked rather busy so why he would abruptly close his phone call is completely unknown to him.. “Is there something I could help you with?”

ryo seems to freeze at his call and he’s not sure why - did he offend him again already? when he catches up to him a little more, he’s told to please not use the escort name but rather his real name. he takes a moment to let that sink in, realising that he’s never really paid much attention to the difference in name but apparently ryo prefers to be called ryo when he’s out for a stroll. it’s not really his forte to remember who likes what and so he just decides to try and overwrite setsuna entirely with ryo. he doesn’t think he’ll see ryo on the clock anymore anyway, so that’ll probably be for the best.

“alright, ryo,” he therefore replies, coming to a halt when he reaches the younger man and then quickly opening up a notes app in his phone. “i sold most of the paintings i made of you. do you want me to write the money of your percentage over on your bank account or would you prefer to have it in cash?”

(...) It is nearly comedic the way the small female teeters the pile of sheets and pillows as she goes into the living room. Luckily, she manages to get to the couch with tripping over anything. That is a feat in itself, and as she settles the sheets onto the couch, she looks over to her companion, softly calling his name with a smile. 

he has barely spoken the words or yuqi is already up on her feet, telling him she should stop bothering him, and then off she goes, disappearing into one of the other rooms. he’s not sure which one it is, but he guesses it’s probably the place where she keeps her extra blankets. she’s gone longer than he expects, though, the reason for which being revealed when she returns not just with a pile of sheets bigger than herself but dressed in pyjamas.

he instantly gets up out of the couch to give her the space to just drop the sheets without having to be afraid of hitting him. when she sets them down and then looks over at him, he can’t say he doesn’t melt a little when she smiles at him so softly, with so much warmth, and he wonders once more how people can be this trusting and loving and probably also gullible for such a long time throughout their life.

“thank you,” he says when it seems like it’s his turn to speak again, and he mirrors her smile with one of his own, before reaching out to run his hand over her hair again. it’s not a demeaning gesture, more one of fondness, though it does speak volumes of what he regards her as; a little sister more than anything. still, he appreciates her, and so he nods in the direction of the other rooms again. “you should go get some sleep as well, i’m sure your body can use it more than mine.”

(...) “Hm, I might have to take you up on that. I’ll think about it,” he replied with a small smile. And by think about it, he meant that he would ask Taemin about it. Considering the last time he got a tattoo without letting his husband know first resulted in retaliatory nipple piercings, he did not even want to know what Taemin might pierce if he did it again…

yoongi agrees to his suggestion at least, and the next moment he’s got a phone reached out to him. he takes it carefully, glancing down at it. he takes a moment to find the contacts, but then casually goes in and adds his number, simply under the name sveinn and saves it. he returns the phone just as easily, not once even glancing at anything he doesn’t need.

“this friday works for me. i’m off work at eight only, though, so does ten work for you?” he pauses for a moment before adding “or do you sleep early these days?” it’s not a joke this time, because people grow up and a lot of them stick to more appropriate sleeping schedules as they do. he’s not sure if yoongi belongs to that group or not. from what he used to know of him it didn’t seem likely, but then yoongi being a police officer also didn’t seem likely at all.

when the other man says he’ll think about the tattoo, he simply nods his head. there is no point in saying more about it. he knows yoongi will indeed think about it and will get back to him on it in case he decides to get one. he’ll be more than happy to bring whichever artful idea the younger man has next to life on his skin, and that’s really all there is to it, isn’t it?

(...) Did that sound like bragging? That wasn’t her intention, but she was not going to apologize for it. She was proud of how close her family was, and getting to live on the island with them made her ridiculously happy.

when she laughs and comments that not all the gods are notable, he ends up laughing as well. “that’s true,” he agrees as he chuckles along easily. “most of them aren’t at this point, actually.” he snickers some more over this thought, pondering about these gods who are as good as unknown to the general populace, who live in the depths of being forgotten. yeah; they’re definitely not all notable.

she calls his feelings fair and that is new, too, for most people who agree with him are ones who somehow hate or resent their own godly relations. she sounds more than happy enough with her brother and father and whatnot, but she still sounds like she gets where he’s coming from. so he tilts his head a little, just to glance over at her, and there’s a small smile playing at his lips that he doesn’t even realise himself is there; a genuine and appreciative thing.

it’s been a while since his peace has been disturbed. that is to say; he’s been taking great care to stick to the places he knows and to only interact with the minimum of people necessary. he hasn’t wanted to be disturbed by the bother of people’s opinions on him or the effort of social interaction that sometimes just becomes a giant drain on his energy, time and patience. he’s learned long ago that the best course of action to take is to just distance himself from everything for a little while and then he can slowly ease back into things when he’s recharged his batteries.

so even the tea garden hasn’t seen his presence in a while, the artist sticking more to his own home or his studio outside of work. occasionally he’d been at the post office to ship out this or the other painting he sold online, the proceeds of his art starting to go up high enough that he’s actually even been considering quitting his job. but then he likes tattooing too much so even if he quite at the taste of ink, he’d probably just want to continue doing it on his own. such a thing would require buying all the necessary supplies though, so it might be easier just to give up his manager position instead. the idea of falling under another manager rather than just the big boss, however, is also not really great, and so things haven’t changed and he’s just been taking it more easy at work.

outside of that, his intense gaze usually makes most people back off and decide against talking to him those few times when they did consider it to begin with. all this to say that peace has been a constant companion of his throughout the past couple of weeks, even lasting him throughout his interactions with dionysus, even if some of those were emotional enough to rock the boat a little every now and then. but that’s an emotional labour he wants to do, so it doesn’t bother him as much.
