Summary: Tony Stark isn’t enhanced. His superpower is his brain, not his body. After Civil War he is left broken and on the verge of death. Too bad the answer to saving him leads to the worst revelation of his life. Cue the angst.

Tony collapsed, trying to catch his breath.

Everything hurt; and with the removal and subsequent destruction of his face plate, each icy breath seared into his lungs.

With Steve gone his heart rate began to decrease and the pain began to skyrocket. There was something pressing at him, something he needed to do, but his head was pounding and the blood trickling down his face irritated his eye and it was… distracting.

“FRI” he wheezed, breathing slowed with the growing difficulty.

There was no response.

Right. Because the suit had died. Shit.

He tried to lift his arm to reach the emergency release button, but it barely moved. The power had run out when Cap smashed his arc reactor. But he’d built an independent power generator for emergencies. That system only gave him a few seconds of power to get out of the suit. A minute at most. And that time had been spent telling Cap exactly what he’d thought of him.

Undeserving. Liar.

It's finally here! The long awaited story I promised! I finished Arc I and am currently working on Arc II so if I start complaining about how hard writing is again you all know why.
