I find the xfiles fandom’s commitment to preservation and archiving genuinely so beautiful and moving. TXF was such an important part of fandom history, and I think it’s special that even today, people care enough to keep these resources available and actively build upon them. I am truly in awe of how many of you work to maintain archives, old websites, databases, etc. I think about the fact that so much internet and fandom history is just lost to time, and the reason this isn’t the case with txf is simply because the fans are some of the most passionate, committed, and intelligent people. It’s truly so touching to me and makes me emotional tbh

has anyone ever compiled a comprehensive overview of the xfiles mythology? and where can a gal find such a thing

The thing about generative AI (specifically as a substitute of human creativity) that tech bros will never understand is that those who consume art, the tastemakers and the critics and the students and the masters and everyone in between, they do not care about the output of a machine because output is not the ultimate goal of art. some would argue that removing the creative process from a work art prevents it from even being considered art at all! of course this depends on how one would interpret the creative process, and we are seeing folks argue that the practice of generating an AI work is a creative process itself. it’s an interesting school of thought, but it’s one that ultimately does not resonate with the public and may never in my opinion. this seems so obvious to me but idk
