He nods, “Don’t see why it wouldn’t be. I’ve got a friend back home who cares very deeply about his gameman.” Rory had no idea what it was actually called. He was a bit old fashioned, his whole family was really. But he had friends who were much more with the times. He also had friends who would laugh at him for his lack of basic street smarts, but then again everyone laughed at him for that. He was used to it by now, at least here he got away with it because he wasn’t American. “My thing? Well besides singin’… I guess I really like football, well not your kind of football, I think ya call it soccer. I also do quite like Nascar, Indy Car is too close to F-1, but Nascar is far cooler.”

He knew her. He had met her, and in the small amount of time he had been in the same vicinity as Santana he knew her. He knew people like her. And by people he meant person. And by person he meant himself. He was very much like Santana in all the ways that counted. Well the ways that counted towards a perfectly prickly personality that had both pros and cons attached to it. He snorted, “Are you forgetting who you’re talking to? You think I don’t do the exact same thing to get things my way? Come on Chris Ryan, you’re smarter than that.”

He didn’t blame Sam for being tired. If it went on for as long as they were implying Sebastian would be tired of the jokes, let alone being on the butt end of them. “See that’s where you’re wrong. They don’t always have people supporting them. That high school of yours is a shepherds dream. You got all those sheep who would mind their own business if it weren’t for someone leading them around.”

He took another sip of his coffee and leaned forward, “I’m not saying you should be rude to her, though she could probably use a taste of her own medicine, but as long as you keep acting like a doormat she is going to continue walking all over you. She wants a reaction, so give her one she isn’t expecting.”

“I can’t do that, man. ‘Cause a reaction she’s not expecting would probably mean me being mean and I can’t do that. My mom raised me better than that. She raised me not to be mean, not to start fights, not to be mean to girls especially. I don’t want to disappoint her.” They murmur softly, looking down to their drink with a soft sigh. This is the worst thing in the world. They know that he’s just trying to help them but they’re still incredibly sad.

Lips pressed together and they look up to Sebastian, teeth biting at their lower lip. “I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to be mean to her. Even if she’s a horrible person to me, even if she’s mean to me... she doesn’t deserve it.” They sigh softly, thumb rubbing over the edge of their cup. 

“Not sure the guys are worried, but I am.” He gave a soft smile to Sam. “I mean I’m not entirely sure Sebastian has had a worry at any point in his life, meanwhile not only am I worried about dance with him as our captain, but I’m also worried about school. I would give my soul to be as smart as some of the people at Dalton.”

He pocketed his phone, “Anything I need to bring to this meetup, or just me, myself, and I?” he asked.

“I get that, man. I really do.” Sam definitely isn’t one of the smartest people in their school. They’re definitely a lot closer to the dumbest people in school because they struggle and they’ve never gotten any help for it. Nobody really pays attention to Sam. Nobody really looks at them and think that they need help. Even though they desperately do.

Len nodded, “Understood.” He looked around the room, realizing that there wasn’t really all that much to do with them until he got a response for them. And he had no idea how long that would take. “Do you have some place you’re staying?” he asked.

“ i get that ” 

“ did something happen? ” 

He could understand that. He himself would not consider himself a surfer, plus the water was cold. He hadn’t ever thought about the animals though. But it was something to consider now for sure. “What would ya say your thing is?” he asked, tilting his head out of curiosity. “I’m sure that wouldn’t terrible, right? I bet they’d agree with me if they were here.”

He’d groan if he could. But that would be far more rude than he was wanting to be. It would also likely be counterproductive. He frowned instead and looked at his drink, contemplating if he should take a drink out of it, and he did. He looked up at Sam, “If people know, and don’t do anything then they are shitty people. And I have experience with shitty people.” After all he had people hold him accountable, Santana needed the same.

He raised an eyebrow, “You think finishing the fight is going an hour outside of Lima to get away from her?” he asked. He sighed, and refrained from rolling his eyes. “I’m gonna say this in the nicest way possible, but you need to stand up to her.” He should take his own advice for his own problems, but they were talking about Sam at the moment so that is where his focus was.

“You say that as if you know her. You don’t. Nobody stands up to her because she’s a bully. She’ll find your insecurities and pick on you for it. She acts like she doesn’t have feelings and she’s really good at it. I shouldn’t have to do any of this shit cause she should learn how to be a decent person ‘cause bullying isn’t a nice thing to do and yeah, that sounds naïve but I’m fucking tired.” 

It’s not often that Sam swears like that, it’s pretty out of character for them but they are. They’re tired. They’re tired of being the butt of people’s jokes. They’re tired of people constantly looking at their mouth size and thinking it’s acceptable to pick on them for it. That’s not something they can change and people should understand and recognize it. “I’m tired of bullies bein’ bullies but they’ll always get away with it. They’ll always have people that support them, no matter what.”

He pulled out his phone, “Alright what’s your number?” he asked. He was ready to give his out too. “I really do appreciate this, you don’t have to since we’re competition and all, its kind of nice to know that we can help each other ya know?”

Sam didn’t really understand how people could go so hard on competitions, how they could be so cut-throat about it all. It’s meant to be for fun, too, isn’t it? So they don’t really get how people can be so mean about it. They read off their number, smiling. “Yeah, totally. It’s nice to get to know the other teams without worryin’ about anything.” 

“The way is that way, person whose name I don’t know!”  Orel’s pointing straight ahead but isn’t moving in that direction.  He takes show me the way literally apparently!  “I hope you enjoy yourself!”

He nodded, “Yeah, the sea up north is cold, but the guys that do it say its pretty good. If you couldn’t tell I don’t surf. You ever thought about doin’ it?” he asked, realizing that there was no ocean in Ohio. Well the question was out there now, he couldn’t take it break. They sounded the complete opposite of Seamus. He was almost jealous. But he also loved his brother. “If my brother is the devil, they must be angels.”

There might not be an ocean but there’s still pools and that is more than enough to live out some kind of pipe dream. “I dunno. I like the water but I dunno if I like the open water, y’know? It’s kinda terrifying, knowing how big it is, how deep it is - and all the animals living in it. Sounds fun but I don’t think it’s my kind of thing.” They say with a smile. “I wouldn’t call them angels, that might boost their egos a bit too much.”
