since you mentioned it, this is vaguely how I see The Prank; I love the hc that it was some kind of manic episode for Sirius, he was just so desperate for some kind of confrontation or a fight and, well, snape happened to be right there. Sirius knew that snape already had suspicious/knew about remus being a werewolf, so he didn't see it as telling snape the secret. When Sirius is going through these episodes, he gets tunnel vision. When he said snape should go to the whomping willow he wasn't even thinking about the consequences for Remus, he was trying to get back at Snape so that was all he could think about. He didn't particularly care if snape got hurt or died, especially in that moment, the actual consequences seemed very abstract and distant in his head. I do think he was apologetic afterwards. Not immediately, but after he realised that, yes sending snape to moony would in fact have repercussions on Remus (this genuinely never occurred to him and his one track mind) he tried to apologise. The aftermath and everything is a whole other thing i havent thought about super in depth, but I dont think sirius was exactly grovelling at Remus feet or anything, he felt guilt about being exactly how his family was, and alot of confusion over why no one was seeing it the way he did. To him it wasnt a betrayal to remus because he wasnt intending on hurting remus, he target for this was snape, so yeah it ended bad but he didn't mean for Remus to get hurt in the process. So i think it was mostly silence afterwards with a few sorrys and attempts to explain himself until Remus eventually forgave him.

Some more general hcs;

Sirius is the queen of jumping– nay leaping– to the worst conclusions then reacting accordingly (accordingly being completely blowing it out of proportion and catastrophisizing everything) usually by; throwing things, picking a fight he doesn't even want to win (form of self harm for him) generally yelling and screaming, destroying property.

He's also the king of major breakdowns. sometimes there's not even anything that trigger them, he'll just go catatonic for seemingly no reason. This is usually after a manic episode and before a depressive one.

Failure is one of the quickest ways to trigger a full meltdown. If a painting he's doing doesn't look how he wants, if an interview or audition he does gets rejected, even things like burning dinner send him into a spiral. this leads to him throwing out all his art supplies or swearing off ever trying anything again, he throws things (seeing a pattern here? Yeah he throws things alot) or breaks things and he almost always regrets these disproportionate reactions and that proceeds to send him into a different kind of meltdown.

He has disregard for his own safety too, he's always putting himself in to situations he knows are dangerous or harmful but he won't stop doing it. My self destructive baby <3

he has substance abuse issues. drugs, alcohol pretty much anything he can get his hands on. He's usually fairly functional, especially as he gets older, but yet never quite gets over the reliance he has on them or the urge to binge drink and over do it at parties/clubs ect. I have a whole backstory for his addiction in my head.

The most impulsive person ever actually. I dont have much to expand on this, just that he does many many things– big important decisions too– without thinking.

I think he scares himself alot. He hates being in his mind, he hates the things he thinks and how out of control he feels, he hates talking about it and he hates the things he does, and he is so terrified by them. The worst things he's done aren't even as bad as some of his intrusive thoughts, and he's so scared that one day, during an episode where he's out of control, he'll act on the worst ones.

He's very paranoid too, the intrusive thoughts mixed with the cptsd and all the other shit he has going on makes for him being convinced that everything is out to get him.

Depersonalisation too, he doesn't believe he or anything else is real sometimes and it takes a lot to convince him otherwise.

His idea of 'getting back at someone' is almost always illegal. He's wrecked many cars in his life and stolen and dumped several different people's personal belongings.

He has a sharp tongue and knows how to tell the truth in a way that hurts and he uses this often.
