all those people actually care about is projecting their own thoughts and feelings onto characters. the characters they can project onto are good and brave and fun and superior and the ones they cant are mean and annoying and gross. & they have so little regard for these characters & what makes them great that they’ll twist and destroy them to the point that theyre unrecognizable  (and kind of an insult to the original!!) so they fit in with what they believe and think and identify with. 

they dont care that hana doesnt hate 76, they care that they hate 76 and theyll screw with hana and her background and her personality to make her a copy of themselves. and they dont care that 76 would respect hana, they care that they hate him & identify with “hana” so they twist him up too to serve their victim complex.

and they do this stuff in worse & more insulting scenarios!

and thats why people like that are usually so rude and judgmental to other people in fandom minding their own business! all they want to see is their own projected version of a character, they dont want to see the actual character & they dont care about the actual character and theyll harass and bother those that dont go along with *their vision* BC all they care about is themselves.
