Imps are descended from sacrificial goats

(Spoilers for the Mission: Chupacabra Short, so go watch that first)

But, like, just think about it! The imps had to come from somewhere, they weren’t demons or fallen angels, they’re underlings. And there’s a crap ton of them, but they’re not sinners either! So, where did they come from? Well, they’re the sacrifices goats/lambs.

Now, back in Old Testament times sacrificing lambs happened fairly regularly so it’s possible that those sacrificial lambs went to hell (as in the lamb is taking on the sins of the people, and thus now that they’re dead they can’t go to heaven, but they’re not really sinners, so they’re in hell but not quite the same entity as sinners are). Then again, animal sacrifice is probably a thing for those worshiping demons and satan as well, so the goats could’ve been brought to hell after they were sacrificed like that. Either way, many dead goats—beings that aren’t quite sinners but not quite demons—in hell, yeah?

So, the goats do what the goats do and they procreate, and over time the imps evolve. We already know that hell changes things about a being, so they could’ve become red and developed the ability to talk real easy. Imps fall into the hierarchy exactly where goats would fall (not demons, not sinners), plus they have horns, yellow eyes, and Blitz has absolutely done the slow blink thing the end goat did.

Let me start by saying that I’m probably not going to continue making a post for every episode like I have been(and this one is probably gonna be short). I still absolutely love this show, but man have I come to the realization that I’m not big on making posts 😂😅 Part of me does enjoy the likes and shares and all that I’ve been getting for the posts I’ve been making, but if I’m gonna post I don’t want it to feel like a chore and part of me worries that’s what this is slowly turning into for me. There’s a possibility I might decide to keep posting with every episode, but I just don’t know and I’ll warn you all not to expect it. With that being said, there are a few things about the past two episodes that I’m gonna post for what might be my final post on this show for a while!

Episode 6 in many ways brought back that heavy-hitting theme of how the entertainment industry has a dark side, and man did they do it well. My heart absolutely broke for Akane and holy cow I don’t think I’ve ever loved Aqua more than at the end of this show when he pulled her back from the ledge. This poor girl has a heart of gold and tries so dang hard and everything came back and hit her in the gut in what might just be the worst way possible.

I need to say it, because it’s important, but if you or somebody you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts or depression, please reach out for help. The suicide hotline number(at least in America) is 988. Everyone deserves the chance to live and be happy.

Now, the most recent episode? First of all, despite all of Aqua’s posing you know this kid’s got his heart in the right place. The way he figured out a way to help restore Akane’s image is so sweet and I am so happy he did that!!! My one problem with him was the moment where he described Ai as his type. Like, yes, I know, he was her fan. Thing is, she was also his Mom? I wish his emotions for her could be qualified as more clearly platonic so that we wouldn’t have to deal with a possible Oedipus Complex with him. And oh, it’s about to get bad for him because of Akane coming in and acting just like Ai!

We all were out here saying that Aqua’s obsession is something else, but did you all see Akane’s wall? The way she figured out so much about Ai???? Honestly, I’m surprised that she didn’t figure out that Aqua and Ruby are Ai’s kids(by the way, do you all think it’s psycho dad or Aqua and Ruby who helped bring Ai stability? I personally am inclined to believe Aqua and Ruby, but who knows)! Anyway, Aqua’s gonna be struggling hardcore around her in her Ai persona and I am so excited to see how all of that goes down!

Hi! Yeah, it’s been a super busy week for me. Thanks for asking!

This episode, in many ways, seemed to bring back a lot of that humor we saw and loved in the first episode that’s been largely missing in the past few episodes. Yes, we still have Aqua being obsessive about getting revenge and everyone still misses Ai(though, to be fair, I don’t know if it’s possible not to miss Ai), but that wasn’t the main focus.

In the past few episodes, the main comedic parts have come from Kana(assuming Aqua’s gay, following Aqua home, freaking out when she found out that Aqua wasn’t in the celebrity department, fighting with Ruby), and this episode continued that!

Considering how the previous episode ended, we all knew that Kana was going to feature decently heavily in this episode, but man I did not expect her going joining Ruby to go down in quite the way it did here! I mean, first of all Ruby and Alana constantly fight! I can’t wait to see these two continue to get closer because it’s honestly hilarious seeing the two of them go at each other yet also work together. On top of that, Aqua begging her to join? Hilarious, but also man did Aqua do Kana dirty! I love him so much! 😂

Okay, and then Ruby? She’s still so sweet and innocent, but now she’s finally starting to become an idol! Oh, and the way she wants to be honest and not have any lies? Man is she so sweet and naive! That being said, the fact that Ai was an expert lier and Ruby plans to be an idol who doesn’t lie is an interesting juxtaposition and it will be interesting to compare the two as the series progresses—especially since you know that the one thing that Ruby will have to lie about is Ai.

I will say, though, that having her idol group named the same thing as her mother’s seems like a dumb move considering that’s something that she probably wants to keep a secret. Like, there’s no way people aren’t gonna sit down and compare the new B-Komachi to the old one, so there’s bound to be a decent number of people who might notice the similarities between Ai and Ruby. Hopefully Ruby won’t end up regretting any of this!

As for my boy, Aqua, man I am laughing! I mean, we all saw the dating show coming(our obsessive little boy is willing to throw away his dignity for his revenge anytime!), but man, the fact that our lovable little sulky boy hates it all so much and yet is acting his literal heart out pretending to be happy about all of it is sending me! 🤣🤣🤣

As much as I love Aqua, I will say that the part where Aqua was talking about his love for Ai was a bit weird/uncomfy since it was framed in a romantic way yet she’s his mother and all that. It’s the thing that made me hesitate in the first episode, but Aqua has somehow managed to be respectful towards Ai despite being her fan, you know? Like, refusing breast feeding, not being overly cuddly, supporting Ai with her pregnancy, things like that. To me, all of it made what would otherwise be awkward and uncomfortable humorous and acceptable. This conversation brought up all those things, but Aqua said it wasn’t a romantic love, so I just hope that’s solidified a bit more as it gets brought up.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see how all this goes down—who will join Kana and Ruby’s Idol Group, how the dating show will go down, what’s up with the girls in the dating show(because I’m calling it now: all of them are sketchy!), and what will happen next! I really can’t predict much for what will happen in this show and it makes me so excited and curious about what’s going to happen next!

Alright, so at the end of last episode we were all super excited about what Aqua was about to do on the film set, yeah??? Well, I’ve gotta say(at least for me) it was everything I hoped and a complete surprise to me at the same time! Part of me was definitely expecting for him to step in and completely blow everyone away with his acting skills(because despite the fact that he keeps claiming that he’s bad at acting, I just don’t believe it!), and, in a way, he did, just not how I was expecting him to!

Aqua’s obsessive, that’s, like, kind of his number one personality trait. He doesn’t really seem to have any interests or goals aside from getting revenge for Ai/anything to do with Ai and acting(though he doesn’t let himself admit it). That being said, when he enters the scene, when he was practicing for the scene before the camera was rolling, all of that showed the effort and care he put into his acting. He matched up the screen to the manga! Like, that’s next level right there! Also, he literally got himself punched???? Like, dang, dude! Stop claiming not to care about your job if that’s the length that you’re going to go to!

We also get Kana, slowly losing faith in her work in this scene, which was so dang sad!!!! Like, this girl puts so much work into her job and she just cares so incredibly much! Seeing her trying to get Melt-kun to be better and failing and the tremble in her eyes when that happened??? Ooh, it hurt! This girl deserves the best!!!! I’d honestly not be surprised at all if she ends up developing a crush on Aqua(like their conversation on scandals and the “look of a maiden in love” scene seem to imply—at least to me)! Also, if she does end up becoming an idol with Ruby like the end of the show implied then I am so here for it!!!!! More Kana content please and thank you!!!!

Now, Aqua vs the Producer guy—can I just say that the producer gives me the creeps? Like, the way he kept mentioning that Aqua looks like Ai makes me worried that he might have some suspicions about Aqua’s background and, like Aqua and Kana said just a minute or two before that, we don’t want any scandals for these characters! Aqua and Ruby’s very existences are scandals waiting to happen, and I’m sure that it’ll get out eventually, but it would definitely make it even more difficult for Aqua to find their father if it is shared with the public. Oh, and is Aqua gonna be on a dating show????? Part of me is laughing—that boy doesn’t fit the dating show vibes at all!—but, at the same time, Aqua deserves so much better than to go on some dumb dating show just to get that information! Thing is—as I’ve mentioned before—our boy is obsessive and I can absolutely see him going on the show if just for that information.

Moving on from the creepy producer, school’s finally started! Ruby is honestly such a teenager and it’s really sweet—being all nervous about making friends, constantly comparing herself to others, being so excited for it all! Like, Aqua could never! Also, did you all catch Ruby saying that Shiranui(or whatever her name—but we’ll get back to her in a second because she’s giving me some sketchy vibes!) is her number one right now and Aqua—smiling, but still—said that Ai is and always would be his number one? Even though Ruby sort of muttered of course that’s the way it is for her, too, and all this is just another clear indicator of how Ruby is moving on from what happened with Ai while Aqua just isn’t.

It did make me remember the fact that Aqua doesn’t really seem to have any of his own interests, though. Like, yes, there’s acting, but the Director got him started and then Ai asked if he was going to be an actor in her dying moments, so how much of this is really him? Aqua—both as Aqua and as the Doctor—don’t seem to have any interests of their own. Ai was gotten from Sarina, acting was got from Ai, and what else is there? Revenge, which is just the Ai obsession twisted into something darker? Sarina said that this is a man with no dreams, and I’m inclined to believe her. He became a doctor in his first life—something that seems incredibly ambitious on the surface—but as a doctor he was lackadaisical and seemed to have no passion for his work. That’s not really ambition—or at least it doesn’t seem like it. Did he become a doctor then see all the better doctors and retreat just like he did as Aqua with acting? I’m so curious! Also, the fact that Aqua’s good at reading people’s intentions(which was mentioned in this episode as well as the first with how Aqua’s good at knowing what the directors want) makes me wonder if he’s always been good at knowing ad doing whatever it is the people around him want him to do. I really want to know more about his background—in case you haven’t figured that out yet!

Now, back to the story, Shiranui? The famous chick in Ruby’s class? Straight-up, she seems hecka suspicious to me! Like, everything she’s said and done so far seem very surface-level and pre-planned to me. Knowing where Ruby’s friend is from as well as the name of the show Aqua was in? Why on Earth would she know that much detail??? I feel like that morning—when she skipped the entrance ceremony—she was actually studying up on her classmates so that she would be able to seem smart and caring or whatever to make herself look better. I mean, she called Sweet Love good? Sorry, but even though I do think Aqua did a good job on his scene I doubt that this chick sincerely watched the show and thought it was good. That is, unless she’s part of the dating show that Aqua’s gonna be on and that’s why she had a job that kept bringing it up and bothered to watch it! Out of the two options, though, I believe the studied it all for her public persona reason quite a bit more.

Overall, another enjoyable episode! After the first episode I will say that these all feel too short for me, but maybe that’s good because it means that I’m always hungry for the next episode! Next week will probably focus more on Ruby and the idol group they’re creating, but I can’t wait to see how that will all go, too! Maybe we’ll also get more of Aqua in school—which I’m actually a bit interested in. Oh, finally, crack theory: do you all think that Aqua’s gonna end up missing a ton of school for acting jobs and then almost be held back a year in spite of being the top of his class purely because he’s lacking in attendance? I doubt it’s actually going to happen, but gosh, the idea occurred to me while watching this episode and I haven’t been able to stop laughing since!

We all guessed it would happen after the first episode, but the pacing for the story is on the slower side. That being said, I appreciate it because it really gives us time to get to know and love these characters better!

To begin with, let’s just look at Arima Kana this episode! Can I just begin by saying that this girl is such a sweetheart??? Like, episode 1 she was such a brat, but this episode? We could see that not only did she have to deal with the consequences of being self-absorbed, but she’s also learned from them and is now such a sweetheart! If that weren’t enough, she’s giving Aqua the chance to get back into acting and I am nothing if not an Aqua Stan, so I support this whole-heartedly.

On top of all of that, though, she’s also so funny and light-hearted(for the most part)! Like, so many of her comments are just so dang funny! From following Aqua after he leaves the school and asking what middle school he’s from to calling out the director for living with his mother to assuming Aqua is gay she’s just such a lighthearted, fun character right now.

That being said, the details!!!! We know Kana lives alone, that she’s struggled with the acting business, that even though she’s doing her best she doesn’t even have an agency and the producer is looking down on her. All of these make it so Kana’s lightheartedness isn’t tasteless in a story that shows the darker side of the entertainment industry—instead it fits beautifully with everything else. Kana hasn’t seen the darkness the way the Hoshinos have so she’s allowed to be more lighthearted and have it make sense, but she isn’t oblivious to it, either. And man oh man I can’t wait for Aqua to bring it next episode!

Which brings us to my boy, Aqua!

Before we get to the fact that he’s acting again(which, whoa, I didn’t expect that to happen so early in the story, but I am in no way upset by it either), can we talk about the cute twin moments with Ruby in this episode???? Just watch that entire beginning scene where the two of them are talking to Kana! The way they both understand each other so well and aren’t ashamed of it, the whispering to each other, the way Aqua shows and feels no shame in admitting that he’s only going to that high school for his sister and she, in turn, feels no awkwardness or embarrassment in casually calling him a siscon? Man, this sibling relationship is just so dang funny and sweet! I love it!

On top of that, Ruby gets so excited about Aqua going into acting! Somehow, the one thing that seems to make Aqua bashful is acting(likely because it’s something that he wants to do for himself, but doesn’t know how to let himself live for himself) so it’s so important that his family is supporting him in this! But, like, the matching Twin sweatshirts they were wearing during that scene? Love it! Gotta say, all the matching outfits for these two give me life!!!! I love it when the twins are together and I can’t wait to see more of them!

That being said, Aqua and obsessive go together like peanut butter and jelly. Because the whole phone sequence? Where the boy continued trying passcodes for four entire years(and yes, I did look up how to do italics on tumblr just to be able to give four entire years the emphasis that it truly and honestly needs)??? That is absolutely insane and obsessive to the nth degree! Anybody who doubts the fervency of Aqua’s desire for revenge is so off-point it’s not even funny. The boy took four years to break into a phone and then memorized all the names of the contacts to help him have some idea of where to even begin looking for his father.

But enough about that, let’s talk about the fact that he’s acting!!!!! Boy oh boy am I excited for Aqua to be acting again! But, like, did you all see his eye sparkle when he heard what the show was??? He wanted to be in it from that exact moment, none of you can convince me otherwise! He didn’t agree until he heard who the producer was, yes, but in some ways I can’t help but feel like that was almost an excuse he was giving himself to allow himself to act again. My evidence? The end of the episode!

Aqua has the DNA, by all means he doesn’t especially need to do anything special, and yet you all saw that closing image, yeah? Aqua is about to make at least that episode worth watching! He’s gonna go all out in acting and I don’t care what Aqua says about his own talents in acting, I believe in that boy enough for the two of us! And you know what, the fact that he’s also doing it in defense of Kana???? This boy has a heart of gold and will do literally anything to protect the people he loves. We know this just by looking at everything he’s done/is doing for Ai and Ruby, but it looks like Kana might be added to the list of his people soon if things continue, and I am all for this!

All of this being said, Aqua right now doesn’t know how to let himself live for himself or even really value himself. This has been an underlying issue the entire series, but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on as the story progresses. He never got angry at the stalker for killing him(in fact, in episode 1 Aqua says that he felt almost grateful to the stalker), Aqua never lets himself enjoy things for himself(he always credited Sarina for his love of Ai/says he was Ai’s fan for Sarina rather than admitting it was for himself and, now, he won’t even let himself admit that he enjoys acting), and even which high school he went to was solely decided by which Ruby went to. From the very beginning he was called somebody with no dreams(refer to the conversation in Episode 1 between the doctor and Sarina when they’re discussing what it would be like to be an idol’s child) and even though he was a doctor, a profession that’s usually very ambitious, Aqua never truly showed any love for the profession in either life—being something of a layabout while he actually was a doctor and never even considering being a doctor again in this life. It honestly makes me wonder why he was ever a doctor and wonder more about his past life in general, because, when you think about it, we don’t actually know all that much about his past life, do we?

Alright, so this episode definitely didn’t have quite the same impact as the first episode, but it was still really good!

In many ways, this episode seems to be setting up how things are going to be in the future episodes. It’s set up how the relationships and characters have changed in the wake of Ai’s death and the subsequent years that followed, and I can’t help but think they did it rather well. Throughout the episode, we could feel Ai’s absence and the fact that her memory still lingers over them all.

That being said, there were still some sweet/funny moments—surprisingly enough mostly surrounding Aqua who’s basically gone full-emo at this point!

The scene where the director and Aqua talk about Aqua’s acting? Both silly(with the Mom coming in and interrupting multiple times) and also sweet. You can feel how close these two have gotten in the past ten years. I’d argue that at this point in time the director probably understands Aqua better than any other character. I mean, you all saw the head pat and Aqua’s eyes with the missed hair, right??? This boy still has a bit of a dream, a bit of a child in him, and it’s kinda cute. I can’t wait to see him flourish in the future(or, at least I hope he gets the chance to later on down the road).

Also, you all saw the high school interview Aqua gave, right???? Let’s just review, a kid, with one of the strangest names ever, applies to a school with an entertainment department, but goes for Gen Ed and has a ridiculously high score compared to the average and the only reason he gives is that he likes the school’s “spirit”. You all see just how absolutely ridiculous and absurd it is, right? It made me giggle, just a bit 😂

Overall, it was a solid episode. I didn’t absolutely fall over myself loving it like I did the first episode, but I’m still excited for the second episode and will be counting down the days until it comes out! I can’t wait to see where this story goes!

A few days ago I posted about one of my favorite fan fictions, Lightning Scars and Metal Hearts by Severitus812. It’s such a great story. It explores darker topics and growing as a person all the while having characters full of such vibrant personality and life.

Yesterday, I found out that some people are posting hate comments on the most recent chapters because they don’t like how the story is going. They don’t like the fact that the author decided not to have some magical fix-all that erases all the bad decisions that have been made. Personally, I do like that, though I also understand that not everybody does. That being said, not liking how the story is going is not a reason for hate comments—there is no reason for that type of behavior.

Today, the hate comments have now progressed to somebody(likely only one person, but it could be multiple people) posting straight up hate comments, including multiple comments saying the author should kill themself, using guest accounts.

I am disgusted. I am upset. I am disappointed. There isn’t a single reason for comments like that on a fanwork—not one single reason. I cannot imagine how the author is feeling and I hope that they won’t take the words of a toxic individual(or individuals) to heart.

The saddest thing is this is not the first time I’ve seen or heard about such things happening. I know the fanfic author Zepazariel, who wrote Crimson Rivers and Just Lovers, for instance has spoken and posted about the terrible behavior of fanfic readers before.

For some reason, some fans feel entitled enough to demand things from popular fanfic authors and then attack said authors when they don’t get their way. It’s wrong and terrible and absolutely disgusting.

If you’re an individual who’s posting malicious comments, stop. You can always leave and you don’t have the right to demand a single damn thing from other fans or fanfiction authors.

If you see people posting malicious comments, please report them where applicable.

Our fanfic authors deserve love. They are making something in their free time and sharing it with us even though they don’t have to. Please let your favorite fanfic authors know how grateful you are for their work when you can. We might not be able to stop the malicious comments, but maybe we’ll be able to drown out the negative comments with positive ones.

Listen, I’m an anime only fan, but I knew a little about what was coming in this episode because of some spoilers I didn’t manage to avoid(which, just to be clear, is completely on me!). That being said, holy freaking crap, this episode was something! I knew this was coming—I *knew* this was coming—yet the emotional response that Dabi’s Dance created? That was something else! Honestly, it’s episodes like this one, episodes where this show just reaches out of the screen and yanks my heart through my gut, that make me love this show so much. It’s absolutely amazing what this story does and I am eternally grateful to the creators for making it.
