But the greatest good in married life, that which makes all suffering and labor worth while, is that God grants offspring and commands that they be brought up to worship and serve him. In all the world this is the noblest and most precious work, because to God there can be nothing dearer than the salvation of souls.

Butter

1 lb. onion, diced

4 garlic cloves, minced

3 Tbsp. paprika

1 red bell pepper, seeds removed, diced

1 Hungarian yellow pepper, seeds removed, diced

2 Roma tomatoes, diced

1 chicken breast (1 lb.)

1 1/2 c. chicken bone broth

Salt

Sour cream

Heat the butter in a large pot over high heat. Add the onions and garlic and cook, stirring, until wilted.

Remove the onions from the heat. Sprinkle with the paprika and stir.

Add the chicken, peppers, tomatoes, and chicken broth. Season with salt and stir.

Return the pan to the heat. Bring to a boil. Sprinkle in a little salt. Cover and reduce the heat. Simmer for 45 minutes.

Uncover and season with a little salt. Cover. Cook for another 15 minutes.

Take some of the sauce and mix it with some sour cream. Then slowly add the mixture to the pan.

Serve and enjoy!

(Note: The leftover sauce made an excellent sauce for pork chops the following day.)

The cucumber salad was simply cucumber, salt, and paprika. It would have had dill, but I didn't want to pay $5.50 for a tiny jar.

2/3 c. lard

2 c. Potatoes on the Side Instant Mashed Potatoes

1 tsp. salt

3 tsp. Hungarian paprika

2 tsp. Italian seasoning

9 garlic cloves, peeled

Place the lard in a baking pan and put it in a preheated 350° F oven to melt. Set it aside.

In a bowl, combine the potato flakes and the seasonings.

Roll the pieces of chicken in the melted fat, then put a garlic clove under the skin. Put it in the bowl with the seasoning mixture; sprinkle the top to cover. Shake off any excess.

Place the chicken skin down in the pan. Bake it for 50 minutes. With a spatula, turn the chicken over and bake another 10 minutes.

1. Don't spend a fortune on cosmetics.

2. Wear natural makeup. Ultimately, it is best to save the cosmetics for when you are alone with your husband.

5. Don't document your life on social media.

32. The marital act is a wedding gift from our Heavenly Father to a man and his wife.

33. Before marriage, your body belongs to God. After marriage, your husband has authority over your body as you have authority over his.

34. The sights of your scantily clad and completely naked body are for only your husband, just as sights of his scantily clad and completely naked body are for only you.

It takes a great deal of time, brain power, creativity, and skill to turn an apartment or a house into a home. Homemaking is not simply cleaning.

I think it's good to have a cleaning schedule. Do you remember Ma's schedule from Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House" books? There was a chore assigned to each day of the week, with Sunday reserved for rest. There are many examples of cleaning schedules on Pinterest. Your apartment or house need not be spotless, but it should be reasonably clean. Make sure the kitchen isn't cluttered with dirty dishes. If you have children, make sure the toys are put away.

An apartment or a house should be organized, but that doesn't mean do something drastic like getting rid of all but thirty of your books. Personally, I think an apartment or a house that lacks a decent-sized library is unworthy of being called a home. If you buy something, perhaps get rid of one or two other things.

An inviting home is comfortable. It's not too cold due to being overly minimalistic, but it also isn't cluttered with décor. The living room: A chair or two with a couch and a few throw pillows is good. A succulent in one corner. A fresh, beautiful floral arrangement in a pretty vase on the coffee table. A beautiful painting on one wall; a gallery of family photos on another. Light a couple of candles, and play classical music.

A home is where someone feels safe physically, emotionally, and mentally. It is a haven from the cruel world outside its doors.

Hospitality is a major aspect of homemaking, especially for the Proverbs 31 homemaker. A hospitable home is clean and its ambiance is warm and inviting. In my opinion a huge aspect of hospitality is refreshments. The best refreshments come from a well-stocked kitchen. Have a cake or two, iced or not, in the freezer. Have icebox cookies made up and in the freezer, so you can slice a few and pop them in the oven in case of unexpected company. Martha Stewart has several delicious variations. Have the ingredients for pomegranate tea, so you have a nice beverage to serve with the cookies. If you are expecting guests whom you know well for a dinner, try to include dishes you know they greatly enjoy in your menu.
