i really like stickers but at the same time i donât because once you stick them somewhere thatâs it, itâs finished, and iâm just not emotionally stable enough for that responsibility
I have been waiting for this post my whole life.
the holy grail
wrong
im sure i am missing some but weâre getting there
Your purpose in life is not to love yourself but to love being yourself.
If you goal is to love yourself, then your focus is directed inward toward yourself, and you end up constantly watching yourself from the outside, disconnected, trying to summon the âcorrectâ feelings towards yourself or fashion yourself into something you can approve of.
If your goal is to love being yourself, then your focus is directed outward towards life, on living and making decisions based on what brings you pleasure and fulfillment.
Be the subject, not the object. It doesnât matter what you think of yourself. You are experiencing life. Life is not experiencing you.
Thank you this is the first post about self love that hasnât made me want to throw things

could you please explain how the safeword traffic system works?? i really cant wrap my head around it
Sure.
Red means stop. No more negotiation, something has crossed a line (too painful, something bad that wasnât negotiated, etc.)
Yellow means that you need a break or that something is too much, or that if the top continues then youâre going to âredâ soon.
Green means that things are going well and you want to continue if not ramp it up a little.
While a bottom might blurt out red or yellow, Iâve never seen a bottom volunteer âgreenâ. Itâs usually said in answer to when a top is checking in to make sure everything is okay. Asking âHow are you?â and getting an answer of âfineâ or âokayâ might mean the bottom is just on autopilot and reflexively answering. Asking âWhatâs your color?â and getting âgreenâ or âI was very close to yellow when you stoppedâ is much better.
One of my favorite doms to watch at parties was doing a pre-scene negotiation with someone he hadnât played with before and said something like âNow, just between you and me here ;-) , my favorite color is yellow. Itâs not about taking anything I can dish out. I promise you, I can always go harder. I want to know how youâre doing. Iâll likely yellow you, on purpose, a few times, just to find out where your limits are and then aim for a little below that. I donât want to hear âgreen green green, green green redâ because then the sceneâs over. I want some indication of how youâre doing and when youâre getting close to what you can handle, okay?â
And then, whenever she yellowed, he praised her. And why wouldnât he?? She gave him vital information that allowed the both of them to have more fun!
The Book of Names lists each person murdered at Auschwitz
#and you have to remember how many names are most likely missing#from rushed trains and burned lists#from rushed transports and people who died on the death marchs#what about the names from people who died after their liberation#and thenâŚ#this is only Auschwitz#this was the biggest camp yes#but just one of many#and then remember sobibor and belsec#and try not to feel sick
This is why we punch Nazis. This is why this vile ideology must be stamped out viciously every time it tries to come out of its hole.
Never. Again.
And each of these names was a person, with hopes, dreams, fears, challenges, goals, favorite books. Young children with special stuffed animals and foods they didnât like, older children with classroom rivals and favorite subjects and siblings they fought with. Young teenagers with crushes and new dresses, older teenagers with career goals and lovers. Adults with bills to pay, with kids, with hobbies and work stresses. Elders with grandchildren who they both adored and shook their heads about.
Before the war, they went skating on the weekends. They played cards with their families. They read books under the covers at night. They missed assignments at school. They had new coats with shiny buttons. They went grocery shopping. They cooked dinner. They had inside jokes. They dipped their toes in the river in summer and took walks in the woods. They wondered about the mysteries of life, formed questions and answers, found people to brave those mysteries with.
They were people. Just like you and me.
