campaign 4 stands out to me for its absolutely GLORIOUS pacing. it’s like reading wheel of time!! like a juicy buildup in an obnoxiously long song!! splitting the tables was a goddamn genius decision, because you know what always gets fucking ignored in fantasy media?? TRAVEL!!! which is crazy because lotr being the blueprint should make it obvious that an arduous physical journey is crucial for fantasy worldbuilding. anyone can dream up a cool fantasy city. you know what i care about?? the roads. the supply chains. the merchants. the ships. the flow of commerce on the land!!

also it gives the characters a chance to interact with horses, another key aspect of fantasy

I love how we got confirmation this cooldown from Brennan that Yes, Thjazi was the shadow that tried to choke Julien to death on the way to Tannesar, but it was under the context of leaving Aranessa behind and being Big Mad TM about it. So now to me it just reads as:

"You left Nessa??! >:( You leave Nessa behind?!?!? >:( Death!! Death by choking for a thousand years!!"
