Alor'ad John Price (hi i'm back)
Hails from Kalevala. Grew up in a traditionalist mando household. Most of his family were killed in the Mandalorian Civil War. Somewhere along the line, he was adopted by Kal Skirata when Kal was in his 40s. When Kal answered Jango Fett's call to Kamino, he took Price with him. However, they had a falling out about the clones' treatment, and even though Kal cared deeply about the clones and was disgusted with the Kaminoans treatment, Price still saw Kal as being complicit in slavery and everything True Mandalorians should be against, yet claiming a moral compass. (Price also does not like Jango Fett, and viewed Fett as a disgrace to Jaster Mereel's legacy, and thinks Fett abandoned his mantle of Manda'lor.).
Finding Skirata and Fett deeply hypocritical, Price disappears into the first 3 years into the clones' training. Price also dislikes the Republic for Galidraan, though it dampens by the time Laswell reaches out and Task Force 141 is formed.
However, during the years leading up to the Clone War, and then the years followingā¦he starts to understand Skirata a bit more, and gets a increasingly jaded in terms of moral compasses and how dirty one can get so the galaxy stays cleanā¦
duuuuuude you have GOT to come out tonight we're enacting cruelty upon those who have transgressed so badly that we can justify any act against them... and you KNOW we're interpreting our delight as moral righteousness... Yeah it's fucking crazyyyyyyy get an Uber
you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for an amazing reason
Always wanted to draw Captain Price š§š»āāļøš

Hello please reblog this if youāre okay with people sending you random asks to get to know you better
Just rambling because I'm sketching Ghost rn (will post that later) but like, people need to remember 141 are British. It's weirdly grating seeing the boys get Americanised in fan works.
I know there's a huge American fan base for the series but. They're British boys. Gaz is a London boy. Price is from Hereford. Ghost is from Manchester. Soap is from the Scottish Highlands (they dont specify where but his clan is from Argyll county) and he's bloody proud of it.
There's also some headcanons on their military service under the cut, since most fan works again use American military knowledge and not British. And the original series did not do it's homework so I'm correcting things
So anyway here's some thoughts on the boys and their backgrounds.
Gaz probably grew up battling London's shit buses, relying on the tube to get to college. He's a lad, always down for a few pints. Probably cheers when someone drops their glass and still calls it a 'cheeky nandos'. Absolutely knows the horrible histories kings and queens song by heart. Probably spent the world cup in the pub chanting "hey Jude" with the other blokes there. Proper city boy, probably grew up on a council estate and used to kick a ball around with his mates on the way back from school. Used to be in the Met Police so we all know he got grief off his old mates for being a plod.
Price absolutely started smoking in either middle or high school like most do. Used to sneak out behind the science block to have a fag. Grew up cycling around with his mates, only coming home when the street lights went on. Probably used to grab a chippy cone on the way home, with extra batter bits. Back then he used to pick up smokes for his parents too from the corner shop, because yes - kids could by cigarettes in the 80s. Was probably a cadet too, used to tell everyone at school he was going to join the army every 5 minutes. Absolutely has strong opinions on the Falklands. Threw his pint over that banner at the world Cup. I just know he played rugby at school.
Ghost is a Manchester lad. Definitely grew up on a council estate and got into a fight with a Man City fan during the derby in his teens. Will fight Liverpool fans. Probably used to go down to the corner shop to put a fiver on the leccy tag (fond memories of doing this myself). Probably spent some time with his family on benefits and used to protect Tommy from the bigger boys on the estate as well as his dad. His dad was probably on a no serve order at the local pub. Probably had social services come visit. Did not let anyone forget about the time the UK decided Manchester had the sexiest accent (correct).
Soap won't let you call him a Brit. He's a proud Scottish lad through and through. Would not stop shouting 'no Scotland no party' at Gaz until Scotland was eliminated, then immediately switched to supporting whoever was playing against England. Was always outdoors as a kid, drove his ma crazy with all the mud and sticks he brought inside. Constantly in detention at school for forgetting homework. Played rugby in school and used to get lifts home with his dad's mates after. He's catholic, big celtic supporter. Never got diagnosed with ADHD because it would affect his application to the army.
is there an echo in here
Introducing Wrecker!
Wrecker grew up in the Bronx with his three brothers, the son of New Zealand immigrants, a few streets over from his older cousins Echo and Fives. He was conscripted into the Army in 1942 at eighteen and was quickly pulled into the Office of Strategic Services by Captain Rex. Alongside his brothers, he became an integral part of the 99th OSS Operational Group ā the Bad Batch. His specialty among them is explosives, finding new and creative uses for each bomb in the arsenal.
Not long after being drafted, he was caught in a bad accident. It left scarring across the left side of his body, cost him the sight in his left eye, and took most of the hearing in his left ear.
Of the four brothers, Wrecker is the loudest and the hardest to miss. He is quick to laugh, quick to act, and genuinely fond of just about everyone he meets. While in active duty, he wrote to his younger sister Omega as much as he could, sending letters stuffed with small trinkets found on missions and drawings heād made for her.
After the war, he took a job at the Copacabana as a bouncer, a perfect position for his large stature, and one that continues to keep his family close.
High quality art images, references, and taglist under the cut! ~

Wait, how does roach fall into this story line if at all? When Simon is sold is he also or is he killed like in the ā09 game? (GOD DONT TELL ME I LOVE MY SON PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON MY BOY ToT)
mmmmm i'm mostly following the reboot but mayhaps i will figure something out for our boy roach! maybe comes into play later as a civilian GAR worker or something like that, combat mechanic maybe? and only Ghost trusts him to work on his own starfighter LOL...
ORRRR...he's Ghost's only true friend when they're in Deathwatch together (also indoctrinated), and when The Incident⢠happens, Roach either gets killed or gets sold as well and they never see each other again (?) oooomfff the angst i could make from this hehehehe...
Iām having thoughts again (terrifying I know, the sparks probably caused a few fires and thatās my fault gang i apologize) and I was wondering how Spars group the mandalorain protectors would interact with some of these cod aspects. Like, I feel like Spar and Priceās groups would have BEEF but in a mando/mando way even tho they have the most in common (šas per usual) but could team up ok enough if necessary. Where Spars group and KorTac would have more of a friends to enemies type deal going on. Like, they donāt have specific beef, their like rival companyās and compete occasionally on jobs, depending on the job if their both hired they can play really nice with eachother actually. I would imagine a few defecting clones (like Trick or Slick) would even join KorTac if they donāt like the idea of Spar or whatever in general. But if KorTak was hired to take out the Protectors theyād def accept the job and do their best (itās my low key personal opinion that the Protectors could def beat KorTac but not without significant loss)
don't ever be sorry my dude, u are feeding me great ideas...might take this along the line for the au if you don't mind. mmmm more brainworms
also i reeaallly need to reread the republic commando books it's been so long
media: we have an anti-authoritarian story for you!
me: sweet hit me with the good stuff
media: so there's this marginalized underclass of people, right?
me: okay
media: and they're like, stigmatized for something that's mostly an aspect of how they are born, or where they're from, or they're badly misunderstood, right?
me: yup, got it, I'm with ya
media: so these people are rebelling against the current social order, because it's the instrument of their suffering
me: oh good great sure
media: but also they're violent and deranged and need to be stopped
me: ...what
media: yeah they're going too far, they're trying to overthrow the system and assassinate the nice cop trying to help them and also they burned down an orphanage
me: ...why? would they burn down an orphanage??
media: extremism is bad
me: still not seeing what this has to do with their fight though???
media: also now they've shot a dog. oops they shot another dog
me: what?! why? I though their motive was to overthrow oppression??
media: yes but their suffering has also made them evil
me: ...???
media: don't worry though, the good guys will defeat them and restore the status quo
me: the status quo that's been killing people?
media: well it turns out it was only killing the kinds of awful people who burn down orphanages and shoot dogs :)
me: oh. this is actually a pro-authoritarian story, isn't it?
media: nooo of course not don't be sillyyyyyy we're super progressive look one of the cops is a black lady don't be sillyyyyyy
and while Iām on the subject of bad clone wars fanon, lord I wish there was more content of jedi and clones having actually complicated relationships. I kinda despite the cookie cutter all jedi and clones want to hold hands and frolic in a field together thing. if thatās your thing thatās your thing, I just donāt feel like it accurately represents the situation at all. given the⦠well, everything. let jedi be imperfect generals, hell even BAD generals considering they arenāt military trained. let clones resent that they got stuck with these jedi, let jedi have a misguided view of how troops should behave, let their expectations of each other fall short.

Eight Years Before the Battle of Geonosis
Wild Space
It wasnāt often that Simon Riley slept long and deep enough for his mind to wander and his consciousness slack enough to delve into dreams and his own inner psyche; but he supposed he had no choice, this time. A drugged slumber was still a slumber, but even then he cursed anything and everyone.Ā
Fucking Price.Ā
One part of Simon wonders long and hardā¦why was Price so determined to find him? To save him? How was he different from any other shabuir that had long accepted that his time hidden behind a cold shell of beskar and aggressive unbreakable ideology and clanship was long over when he was sold to be just another slave, fallen from the pride he once held.Ā
Simon was stripped of any more meaning, physical or cultural or otherwise, now; the little he had left, anyways. Maybe he was an empty shell long before he donned beskar and hid behind a helmet of indifference and coldness. The raise of an electro-whip and a collar around his neck and a hand slipping from his to replace a spear in his bloodied palm and the burning, neverending heat of twin suns had erased anything else.Ā
Simon wished Price left him to die on that whipping post. Simon wished he had never met Shmi and her son who had almost coaxed humanity back into him, as delicate and shaky as it was. He had made his choice, and was content to rot-he didnāt deserve care or a second chance or a bacta tank or to even see a single glint of a ripple of beskar sparkling in the sun or glinting in the glow of the medbay.Ā
The crrk of a neck snapping under his hands. The squelch of organs when he pulled his knife or spear or whatever the Hutts provided him with out of a trandoshanās stomach cavity. Smooth hands sliding down his bare skin, drawing out pleasure even when his mind said ānoā and laughter all around. Even the occasional blasterfire, not that he was allowed to ever use a blaster in the gladiator arenas-it was all so familiar to him, yet white noise or a constant ringing in his ears that never seemed to fade.Ā
He was used to that noise now-perhaps always had been. Violence was so deeply carved in his bones that it was all he had ever known-both within the physical circumstances of whatever environment he happened to be in, whether it was whatever screaming match his buire were in the middle in or the ping! and pew-pew! of whatever living being was unlucky enough to be mowed down by him in the name of glory and something more pure.Ā
Or...the circumstances were just in his blood. His Mandalorian ancestral namesake, however simple it may have rooted from, still arose from centuries of fighting and more fighting and then some.
The harmonious silence that came with common decency scared him far more than violence ever would.Ā
Cruelty was predictable. Kind people were not.Ā
Not that John Price was exactly kind; perhaps not the right word. Tolerant, maybe. The old man had dumped him back into the rancorās den of the terrorist comrades he had betrayed after Simon refused his request (more like a quiet but stern demand) to join him, to start anew; cin vehtin. A clean slate, a virgin snow.Ā
Price had spattered that snow with blood whether he intended to or not-maybe to teach Simon a lesson, to come crying back to him when he had wisened up and realized the error of his ways.Ā
The thing was, Simon recognized the error of his ways, of the Mandalorian way, whatever that way was argued to be.Ā
He just didnāt feel like doing anything about it.Ā
āYouāre angry, ad. Rage can do wonders for the mind and body-you just have to learn how to harness it,ā Price had said three years prior, in classic Mandalorian fashion. Ah, anger...the best motivator for a warrior, apparently.
āI could show you. You could become a better warrior than those close-minded purists ever preached.āĀ
Simon had spit in his face.
He supposed Price wasnāt so different from the slavers, in a way. They liked the challenge of taking away a Mandalorianās dignity, of undoing that prideful psyche, whileā¦
Price liked the challenge of bringing it back. Of filling in the splinters and cracks that permeated Simonās manda with something more desirable to him, for him.Ā
But Simon was convinced he was a ghost, and would stay that way. A spirit condemned to forever wander the teetering edge between identity and the gaping wound that was left when it was ripped away, forever festering.Ā
Though, Simon thought that there was always something festering within him; rotten and sour. It had just been twisted in whatever way others saw fit, whether it was his own father or Deathwatch or the slavers or John Price.Ā
A vessel. A ghost.Ā
Price sits and faces him, not technically looming but still imposing nevertheless. His face is stern, almost expectant as his eyes flicker to the relatively new scar splitting down Simonās lip; even bacta could only do so much.Ā
Price almost feels like heās intruding, like he shouldnāt be here-seeing Simon so barefaced and devoid of blood and bruises and almost appearing peaceful as he sleeps. But he needs to see him, take him in once again. Simon wonāt be happy when he wakes up, but Priceā¦
He still saw that rage in him. That coldness. That potential. But even moreso, a shred of humanity. Simon wasnāt the killing machine, the empty vessel he thought himself to be; even after all he had endured.Ā
However, Price wasn't the type to let such potential simply waste away.
Simon was a stubborn man, but so was Price; and Price was going to draw that warriorās spirit out of Simon once more...
whether he liked it or not.

There he joins the Coruscant Security Force, where he ends up saving the life of Ghost when a simple bounty hunting mission goes wrong. Soon enough Soap gladly joins Price, Ghost and Gaz, making him the newest member of the still unnamed Task Force 141; two years before the Clone Wars starts.
