Lavender Wind

You did it. They said you would never manage, but you did. After 3 years of hiding, you finally emerge. They said you had no place, that you would be forgotten. Their taunts still ring in your ears, but in spite of their hatred, you have found an oasis, a safe haven. Instead if being turned away, you are welcomed. You are treated as an equal, and feel this strange sensation. Joy. You remember what it is to laugh, and you meet others who have experienced what you have. They said you would always be alone, but they didn’t know that being alone is a choice only you make.

You had forgotten what it was like to be happy. They used to beat you up, leaving you to heal your own wounds. Many still do that, but you have found something to keep you going, a motive. You look forward to talking to someone without rebuke. You have stepped out of the darkness and into the sun, no longer blinded by the dark. You are no longer alone.

What if you had the power to change things, told you can make a difference if you work hard enough and give enough time and effort? What if you believed that, that anything was possible and that you could do whatever you mind to. What if you believed that if there is a will, there is a way?

Creativity. Dreams. Hope.

What if you found out that there are limits? What if you realized that some things aren’t possible? What if you were stopped by reality, forced to live in boundaries? What if the infinitive power of creativity was not infinite at all?

Limits. Boundaries. Restrictions.

What if you were not made to fit in the limits of society? What if you were forced to the outside for being outside of those limits? What if you became an outcast for being you? What if you were discriminated against for having a brain wired differently in a “bad” way?

Rejection. Sadness. Depression.

What if the push of society against you was so constant and strong, that it affected you? What if you began to succumb to the constant torture of society’s limits on creativity? What if you let yourself get knocked down and pinned by society’s iron grip on your brain?

Suffering. Tears. Desperation.

What if you stopped trying and fighting back? What if you gave up on creativity and dreams and possibility? What if you let your hope drown in pain? What if you gave up? What if ending everything ended all the pain?

Fluffy, grey clouds scamper across the horizon,

While the storm ripples the sea and peppers it with rain,

And as the green grass darkens in the shadow of the storm,
