Wanna chat about something that’s hard to chat about? Trans jealousy. This is @everyheadismycanvas and it’s not cute, but I am jealous that their chest is small enough to tape up and go outside. Sometimes dysphoria is so shitty that it manifests into envy and comparison. This is pretty common and natural. It’s not great though. And when we express our jealously in spiteful, unhealthy ways it can be really harmful. I recently had someone tell me that they were jealous I was moving forward with top surgery because they had be trans longer and thus deserved it more. Ouch. That stung. We can’t always help these feelings, but we can try to process them in productive ways that don’t hurt others. What are your thoughts on this?
